Sampled during a tasting on June 17, 2012. It was a generous sample which gave me plenty to work with for this review. The pour was dark brown to almost black with a small beige head. The aroma was sweetly malted with more of a coffee note instead of a chocolate note. The body was medium. The taste was sugar sweet with little to no lingering bitterness. This was a smooth, easy to drink stout.

Billed as an 'Imperial Oatmeal Whiskey Stout' at the brewery.
Poured from the growler into a tulip.
Syrupy black ink in color beneath a creamy, coffee-colored head that gathers in a ring around the glass. Patches of condensed lacing with decent strength.
Milk chocolate and espresso with a sharp sour alcohol whaff. The tartness is pleasant and complex with a range of fruity esters: apple, orange, grape, cherry. Notes of smoke and dry coffee beans.
Roasted malts; mocha and dark chocolate with a vinegar-like sour quality from the whiskey character. Breaded oats in the middle with a dynamic blend of grape, apple, and mild citrus. The finish is slightly slick with a return to a caramel and milk chocolate flavored aftertaste.
Full bodied; very active in carbonation and the cutting alcohol presence. Slick, yet almost in balance considering the flavor intensities.
Another dynamic offering from Cody Brewing. Bold, flavorful, and worth a refill despite the 10.5% abv.
