On tap.
This is one of the bad IPA's. One of the worst ever.

Amber color, and malt forward for an IPA.

Look - Poured a clear copper color with a finger of white head, a few rings of lacing.
Aroma - Floral, mineral-like, faint citrus rind.
Taste - Soapy bitterness up front..dove soap?, mild citrus hop oils. Malt is thin and reminds me of dog biscuits. There's a really odd grainy/cardboard flavor in here that makes the whole thing taste ughhhhh. I'm not sure if it's the yeast or what but the aftertaste is unlike any IPA I've had and not in a good way.
Feel - Light - Medium bodied, watery.
Overall - I'd rather not.

Not a horrible beverage, but...Thank God, the brewers in So. Cal took the "Ye Olde" out of the IPA and gave us the goodness of the style the way God intended. Maybe this was okay, back in the day, and you were in the sweltering climate of India wanting your pale ale and gladly accepted a brew like this. Thankfullly, those days are long gone!

I don't know what this beer was supposed to taste like, but it was awful. Light colored with very little head, the beer looked a little oily. I couldn't detect any hop flavor, and there was a bad tasting funkiness that seemed to permeate all Davidson beer. I didn't finish the beer, and wouldn't drink another.

Absolutely delicious beer. Toasty, biscuity malts, and just the right amount of hop balance (in the traditional English style, rather than being a hop bomb). I'm guessing people not liking this picked it up not knowing it was an English IPA. It's very similar to Samuel Smith's India Ale, which is also excellent.
