This has to be the hipster hangout of all hipster hangouts! 2 separate employees had 1850s style handlebar mustaches and emo jeans. Lame! Aside from the lame selection of employees, this place has exactly the same things as every other BevMo does, nothing new to see here. I prefer Total Wine as you will find 3-4 more times beer selection and the wine/spirits selection is the best there is. Waiting to see if BevMo gets put out of business by Total Wine or gets bought out eventually.

the first time i stepped into this bevmo i was happily greated by associates/ staff. i was really impressed with thr shelf condition/ few out of stocks after a friday night ( I showed up first thing saturday morning) great selection of beers and the beer cooler was very impressive as well. quality was a huge problem though. i ending up buying a few too many ipa that clearly had been sitting for a while. i even ended up going home with a few ipa which had floaties in them so buyer becare...look for codes and any visual evidence. bevmo prices were very good...u wont see me complain against the prices. i was happy with the service as well. i would come back but i will be more aware next time.

Stopped in here on my most recent trip to AZ. After a night of drinkig beer and chilling we rolled in here on the way home. It was about 10PM on a March Friday night in Tempe. Needless to say it was packed, line was ridiculous and the wait was horrendous. Understaffed! Poor service. How do you have one register open on Friday night in a college town like Tempe?? Get real. Selection was some Alesmith, Beer Valley, Port, Lost Abbey, Green Flash, Avery so I could not complain at all. I had about $50 worth of bombers to buy but the all back after I saw how long and slow the lines were. Shame. It could be much better in many ways, especiallyon service.

I just visited BevMo for the last time tonight. I only found two beers that I haven't had (and wanted) and another beer that funds myeloma and bone cancer research, so I got it because I'm a softie.

That's not to say they have a bad selection; for many types of stores I would say that it's good. But again, not much I haven't had, and not much to interest me.

The quality of the brews there is solid; some good, some bad. Tons of bad, actually, but enough good to be overall of good quality.

The service is attentive if not exactly attuned to those looking for the next step up. I found some of the prices offensive and some quite good. I went with "a bit pricey" due to the markup on some of the Belgian and German styles. There's a fair amount of great prices as well, just not on beers that I want to drink.

I've been there two or three times now; that's enough. I have combed it for a few beers that I haven't had, I got a great deal on some Houblon Chouffe that must have been there for a while - but that does nothing to a beastly Belgian ale like that. It's clean and orderly, the beer isn't dusty or neglected. I just wish it weren't so lifeless.

Oh, and the fridges are full of terrible shit. I wanted at least one bottle to drink this evening (i.e., already cold), and the selection in that area was pathetic. Only one row per fridge for three fridges, and most of them are available at gas stations and grocery stores these days: Blue Moon, SNPA, that kind of thing. Boo.

I attended the grand opening back in 11/07. At the time, Deschutes The Abyss was being pre-sold by mail-order stores. I asked if they were going to get any, and an employee assured me that they had the buying power to get it. He took my order in writing and said he'd get back to me.

I never heard back. In January '08, it was released and AZ stores received nothing at the time. However, a month alter a couple of cases did make their way to several stores in AZ, including this one. I was never notified despite my written inquiry that should have been on file. By the time I read about it here at BA, they were sold out. I was able to find a few bottles at another store, but the misinformation and mishandling of my order was ridiculous.

The beer selection is very average, but for wine and other stuff, it's pretty impressive.

Bottom line at Bevmo: if it's not on the shelf, don't bother asking about it.
