Well this is officially my favorite beer store in Bangor. Though the selection is somewhat small, the shelves are always stocked with great brews other stores dont have and you can find some real gems here from time to time. Shane, the owner, is a great guy and will keep a lookout for any beers you're looking for. Great place and good prices for the area. Def recommend this spot.

Wonderful little shop with beer, wine, and cheese. The owner is very knowledgable about beer with a good selection of Belgian beers, and a large selection of Maine made beers. There is a good rotation of beers, with seasonal varieties and special releases. Great selection of Dogfish Head, Maine Beer Company, Rising Tide, Stone, Clown Shoes, and Rogue. Recently got some Pumking beer from Southern Tier, and it was amazing. They are always willing to special order beers if they don't have it. Good selection of beer friendly cheeses too! Fun beer spot in Bangor.

For a year I have driven by this place and never thought to check it out. Well I wish I had gone here sooner because this place is great.

Upon walking in the first thing I noticed was how neat and clean the store was. There is beer to your left when you walk in, and on the back wall. Wine takes up the rest of the shelf space, and there is some great food in here as well.

The selection here is decent in size, but very well picked. There is a nice selection of imports, and local Maine brews. There is also a cooler in the back with a lot of US six packs. I saw two bottles of Cantillon here, and I was more than happy to buy them. The prices are good, and are consistent with the other stores in the area.

The service was nice as well. I had a nice chat with the older guy there. He knows his beer and is very friendly. Really passionate about beer and wine.

Overall, this place was a nice find that I wish I had found sooner because I will be leaving the area. I highly recommend anyone in the area to check out this nice little store.

When I look for something new this is the first place in the area to look. They are always changing what they've got for beer and they always have something classy and expensive if you feel like having an elegant night. The people there are very very friendly and are extremely kind in offering advice or making suggestions. They also just love to have a short chat which makes it that much more friendly. The selection is great, like I said. I usually pick up something new and provide my opinion when i return. Prices are good here considering you may not find this selection many other places without looking around a bit, so it is very convenient for me!

If in the Bangor/Orono area, there are three places people typically go to buy craft beer (Ampersands, Burbys, and Bangor Wine and Cheese), another one to add though is the State Street Wine Cellar.

Even though State Street has a website, I don't know many people that go to State Street which is a shame. State Street is basically a small hole in the wall and it's easy to miss. While its not particularly wide, it is long enough to store all the essentials and some surprises. Up front is a decent cheese selection and along the walls are their wines. Out back is the beer.

In central Maine, it's important to check all locations every once and a while, especially when the season changes. I make sure to hit up each location since each place usually has one or two beers that the other doesn't. One evening, I finally made the decision to hit up State Street (I've tried before, but I kept driving past it because it's not very noticeable at first). It was about 2 minutes before closing but the lady working the counter was nice enough to stay open to let me peruse the store (added points for that). As quickly as I did, I found a couple Autumn beers that no other place had and immediately bought them. So be sure to visit this hole in the wall.
