650 mL bottle. Almost black body. Smells of rich coffee, bourbon, oak, vanilla, a little chocolate. Awesome. Tastes of strong bourbon and very smooth, rich coffee. Chocolatey and nutty in the back end. Dry oak finish. Medium body. Excellent.

A - Pours a motor oil black with a one finger tan head. Light amount of soapy lacing.

S - Aroma is bourbon, chocolate and oak.

T - The taste starts with the bourbon and vanilla upfront followed by dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate and charred oak. The finish has a light lingering bitterness.

M - Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Slightly watery mouthfeel with a crisp dry finish.

O - This is a nice lower ABV barrel aged stout.

Have had the original CEO Stout when we were up in Traverse City. Came across a 22 oz bottle of the barrel aged variety and decided to give it a try. Really not tasting the up charge of the barrel at all. Dark coffee and chocolate come through nicely, but if you're looking for some ba goodness, this isn't your beer. Good stout otherwise.

Short Review, this came in second out of the three CEO variants we tried. This was a nice tasting beer, no complaints there, it had strong butterscotch flavor that I enjoyed, but not much coffee came through and pretty much no barrel or bourbon flavors showed up, not what I really want in a barrel aged coffee stout, but it still managed to be a beer that I enjoyed drinking regardless if it doesn't taste like any other Bourbon barrel aged coffee stout.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 11/25/2014. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 2 finger dense tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, toast, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, oak, light char, and roast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt, coffee, and bourbon barrel notes; with good strength. Taste of dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, toast, toffee, vanilla, bourbon, oak, light char, and roast/oak earthiness. Fair amount of coffee/spicy oak bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, toast, vanilla, toffee, bourbon, oak, and roast/oak earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt, coffee, and bourbon barrel flavors; with a good roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly creamy, and slightly chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with a slight warming bourbon presence after the finish. Overall this is an excellent BA coffee stout. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt, coffee, and bourbon barrel flavors; and very smooth to drink with the lower ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Whiskey overpowers it. Solid brew, the Imperial is better.

Love the CEO stout, and the barrel aging was a delightful twist. Get it while you can.
