Dated 11/23/15. Date reviewed 1/12/17. Poured into a tulip it has a big head of 1 and a half inches and a black body. Smell of coffee, belgian yeast, dark fruit, caramel, milk chocolate, some roasted malt, and a lot of vanilla. Taste is coffee, chocolate, soda like, slight fruit flavors, almost like a flavored sparkling water. Mouth feel is weak as well as body, with a big soda like carbonation. Probably shouldn't have aged this at all but thought how bad could it be? It seems to me like the yeast they used wasn't finished fermenting or still had a lot more CO2 to produce so it did and now it is unbearably carbonated, but doesn't have any noticeable off flavors and what flavor I can pick up is actually quite good, but still isn't enough to make up for the loss of mouthfeel and body.

Received beer as an extra. Had a very light, New Glarus-ish type of wax on it. Took it to a release to share. The one good thing this beer had going for it was the carbonation. A small pour would create a massive head. To me, the "Belgian yeast" did not play well with the coffee. It created an off-putting flavor. This became the "try this beer" at the share, so others could watch the various reactions people had.

$11 bomber dated... uh... 11/23/15? Can't read the month. October or November. CEO Stout is one of the very few Right Brain beers I would say I enjoy, so I'm looking forward to this -- as well as the Imperial CEO I have.

This smells of "dusty" malt with a pretty mild yeasty funk. This also has a decent amount of roasted malt on the nose. I haven't had CEO Stout for quite awhile, but I don't remember it smelling like this (which is to be expected, I suppose). This smells pretty light. The taste is much like the aroma. That "dusty" vibe comes through quite a lot with a faint amount of Belgian yeast. There's a slight bit of roast with a mild but pleasant dark fruit, banana, and roast finish. Bittersweet as a whole. The body is fairly thin but has a nice creaminess to it at the same time. Carbonation is moderately high.

Another very "whatever" sort of beer from Right Brain. I definitely appreciate the experiment, but nothing about it is quite blowing my mind. I really like the way the coffee starts to hit on the finish with the dark fruits though, so that's what's making this beer for me.

This is a pretty good beer, but it isn't for everyone -- even for people who do enjoy it (me), it's not really doing a whole hell of a lot for me, and I prefer the regular CEO Stout over this. Regardless, worth a shot if you enjoy Belgian flavors, stouts, and don't mind a bit of an experiment. Overall, I just don't think this is worth the price hike compared to the regular CEO Stout.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 11/23/2015. Pours pitch black color with a 2 finger fairly dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, raisin, prune, fig, peppercorn, clove, light banana, toasted dark bread, light smoke/char, and yeast/roasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of roast/bready malt, coffee, and fruity/spicy yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of big dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, raisin, prune, fig, peppercorn, clove, light banana, toasted dark bread, light smoke/char, and yeast/roasted earthiness. Good amount of roasted bitterness and peppery yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, raisin, prune, fig, peppercorn, clove, toasted dark bread, light smoke/char, and yeast/roasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance roast/bready malt, coffee, and fruity/spicy yeast flavors; with a nice malt/bitter/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Good amount of dryness from carbonation and bitter/spiciness as well. High carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, moderately prickly, lightly creamy/bready, and sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice Belgian coffee stout. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance roast/bready malt, coffee, and fruity/spicy yeast flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink. A very unique, but well done remix of CEO stout. The flavors retain all of the base stout character with balanced yeast; but the mouthfeel changes to feel more like a Belgian style with the carbonation and dryness. A very enjoyable offering.
