Poured from a 12 oz. can into a tall pint glass.

Appearance: Pours a dark brownish amber with a lot of rising bubbles. About one finger of off white head that fades into a thin patch.

Smell: A toasty and fairly sweet malt forward aroma with hints of nuts, caramel, and chocolate. Toasted barley malt with hints of biscuit, caramel, toffee, chocolate, toasted bread, nuts, and yeast. Sweet hints of brown sugar. Very light earthy hop presence with a hint of grass. A pretty decent toasty aroma.

Taste: Like the smell suggests, a sweet and toasty malt driven taste with notes of caramel, chocolate, and nuts. Toasted barley malt with upfront notes of biscuit, toast, chocolate, caramel, toffee, nuts, and yeast. Sweet taste of brown sugar. Subtle earthy hop notes of grass. A decent nutty and malty taste.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Creamy, slick, and very smooth.

Overall: A pretty decent nutty take on a Brown Ale. Light but has some nice toasty malt flavor.

Pours a very effervescent copper/brown with 2+ fingers of tan head. Above average head retention & lacing

S: Toastyness, a little bit of leafy hops

T: Toastyness, dryness, a little nuttiness up front. More toastyness, nuttiness & faint leafy hops as this warms, some brown bread sweetness as well. Finishes toasty, dry & fairly crisp

MF: Light/medium bodied, firm carbonation

Easy to drink, a pretty good brown

A: [4.50] Beer has a 1 finger tan head. The head has small bubbles but dissipates pretty quickly. The beer is a really dark brown/chestnut color. It looks really nice in the glass. The can lists the ABV (4.7%) but there is no date info.

S: [4.25] Brown sugar, toffee, caramel cube candy chews. A lot of sweet notes on the nose. English brown bread.

T: [4.00] The taste is cocoa, coffee, brown bread, hazelnut. Really flavorful and delicious combination.

M: [3.50] Slightly water body but decent carbonation and satisfying finish.

O: [4.00] Really like this one. It is a really good blend of aromas and tastes that equal a delicious beer. The biggest ding is the body is pretty thin but at 4.7% it is hard to generate a great body. I would buy this again and recommend it to friends.

Pours a medium ruby-brown with a tan head that fades fairly quickly. The aroma is nutty and malty with a bit of toffee and a touch of fruit. Taste is malt-driven with lots of nuttines, some toffee and some fruit. Mouthfeel is medium and smooth.

12 oz can. Pours light ruby brown with a medium fluffy light tan head that retains well and leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is toasted chocolate malts with a little nuttiness.

The flavor is sweet toasted chocolate and caramel malts with some graininess and a bit of a metallic twang. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Overall, an OK brown with some off notes.

1/2 growler fill

looks pretty much typical brown ale, malty sniff, malty brew with some nuttyness and chocolate notes....A bit on the thin side =, both flavor wise and body wise...ehh...not the best brown ale, but surely decent and worth a try

Had on tap at New World Tavern--Plymouth--served into a pint glass

Appearance: dark brown in color, minimal head, clear, moderate carbonation

Smell: lots of caramel, some leather and nut

Taste: follows the nose with some chocolaty notes

Mouthfeel: medium bodied, moderate-low carbonation, sweet start with a slightly bitter backbone.

Overall: This is an above average to good brown ale. What I love about this one is its complexity and multiple layers of flavor...instead of just the usual nuttiness I get with this style. I would get this again if I saw it on tap.

Serving glass: Poured from bottle into Imperial Pint.

Appearance: Rich brown with thin, light tan head.

Smell: Caramel, cherry, nuts and a slight metallic cast.

Taste: Caramel and cherry, with some nice nuttiness that continues through the finish, along with light floral hops.

Feel: Relatively high carbonation over a fairly light body. Semi-dry finish.

Overall: Nice example of a sessionable Brown Ale.

Brown in color with a fingernail of tan resting on top. Light lacing. The aroma is of artificial caramel. I taste a very sharply astringent flavor of caramel malt. The mouth is very carbonated and there's a ginger like effervescence that seems out of place.

12 oz undated can purchased cold just a few days ago but possibly contaminated.
Dark reddish-brown body with a very good head and respectable lacing. The mouthfeel is good too, but the aroma and flavor not so much. The dank, earthy aroma is particularly disappointing while the flavor is partly redeemed by a decent finish.

DATE: October 20, 2016... OCCASION: SGO computed, time to mentally prepare for Friday... GLASSWARE: Kisatsky Tavern pint... pours a dark chestnut brown, almost opaque body... forced before light, some bubbles show through... a single-finger off-white head holds strong to a foamy ring... the aroma is nutty--almonds, pecans--though the mango and grapefruit offer a welcome dimension... the toasted bread malts suggest a moderate sweetness... the body is smooth, effervescent at the throat, and mild at the teeth... sessionable as the label professes... frothy too, suggesting freshness... medium-bodied, but not weighty... the flavor profile is dominated by hazelnut and pecan, toasted oats and bread, while the hops suggest citrus--light mango, orange, lemon--to build a reasonably balanced taste... nothing bad to say about this offering--my first from Nebraska, I believe... a competent, serviceable brown ale that I wouldn't mind having again...
