NBC is located behind the Hy-Vee at the far end of Dick's Sporting Goods' parking lot. As such, there is plenty of parking. While some folks in Omaha think Sarpy County is on the other side of Mars, NBC is easy to get to as it sits on the corner of 72nd St. & Highway 370.

The Good:

-The beer! Since NBC opened the beer has steadily improved. Their IPA is excellent, the Pale Ale is solid but the gem of their core lineup is EOS Wheat... a true German-style weizen. I'd say EOS is the best American-brewed hefeweizen I've ever had (and, yes, I've had Live Oak's version). Seasonal beers and "brewer's choice" beers have been, at least, above average to excellent. Their Eden Amber was topnotch; the Bock was so drinkable... the Belgian Blonde was well worth the wait. They offer an "Ale Nation" club allowing you to drink out of the "8th Tap." It is $75 a year to join... to rich for me.

-The brewing equipment and tanks are in plan view.

-There are great photos of old breweries and such in Omaha.

-Dean, Tyson, and Paul are all topnotch people and have things going in the right direction. Cheers guys! Way to advocate beer.

-They hold special events and beer dinners.

The Okay:

-Service. Sitting at the bar the service as been fine but sitting at a table the service as been somewhat slow but competent. I'm sure this will improve in time.

-Atmosphere. Personally I like my brewpubs to be more pub than restaurant. NBC is clearly more restaurant than pub. The brewpub is one large room with an upstairs and a bar. Fairly barren walls, off-orange paint, tile, dark wood and black metal are the decor. The bar itself is long but the bar area is kind of cramped. A few nice plasma TVs hang above the bar. Not many frills but that is okay. Not very warm and cozy but it is growing on me.

The Shaky:

-Food. I'm sorry to say but the food is not up to par, IMO. I've tried the pizza, burger, pasta, soup, salad, and steak. I wasn't wowed by anything but nothing was bad. I'd tweak a few things... smaller plates, whole leaf lettuce on the burgers, richer pasta sauce, and "better" cooked pizza. That said I still eat here without issue... I'm just nitpicking a bit. The potential is there.

Overall: A welcome addition to the Omaha beer scene. IMO, the beer is better than Lazlo's (and maybe Upstream?), the food is not as good as the latter too. If I wanted just to hangout and drink some beer I'd go to NBC. If I had a family dinner I would think twice about eating at NBC... at the moment. I'll be the happiest BA to edit my review. I am sure the food will improve; this is still a young business. Still, the beer is so damn good it is a must visit. I am a fan.

We stopped here for dinner on our trip on I80. It was a great idea. A few points off on vibe because seating options were needlessly limited. We were seated near a trivia night dj, and it was a bit loud.

Food was great, I had a perfect steak. Entrées ranged in price from $8-$22.

We ordered the sampler flight and they had a great hop parallel on their ipa, one with cascade and one with mosaic, so it was a great opportunity to better understand the flavors. The rest of the beer selections were solid (traditional ) examples of the style. They had a great selection of mead from Moonstruck which is down the road, and offered samples of that and sold bottles, as well.

this place looks like it took over an applebees or something, so new and corporate looking, weird, because their beer is so good. booths and high tops near the bar, tables in a dining room looking area, not a ton of space, but a ton of taps, something like 15 beers all told when you count the bottled offerings too. comfortable in here, but impersonal it felt, generic looking, an odd vibe is cast by the surroundings, but they do a nice job overall. they have several ranges of beers, from basic to gnarly barrel aged, and most of them are very good. i loved the summertime rye here, and also had an interesting series of barleywines. the selection is great. service was nice too, but perhaps not quite all the way schooled up on the beers, a little juvenile, but nothing negative. the food was good, better than average pub food, but nothing overly ambitious. i liked it here, but i actually liked the vibe up at their production facility a little better. the beers were of course the same, but something here felt a little cookie cutter to me...

Stopped in here a few times but always seemed to be on a Wednesday night when they host their 'Trivia Night" and since it was always so loud and crowded, we skipped it. Anyway, stopped in at around 3 PM yesterday on 3/26/16 to get a few appetizers and try a brew or two. Since I tried 5 of their 'common' brews before that are sold in cans locally, I wanted to try something I haven't seen or tried. What I tried would be their "Apricot Saison" which was served in own of their "13-ounce snifter glasses for $7.50. I also got a free 2-ounce sample of their "Infinite Wit" which was tasty also. We ordered 2 appetizers which was a "Margherita Flatbread" for $8.99 and their "NBC Antipasto Platter" for $10.99. Both came out very fast, in like 5 minutes which surprised us both. The flatbead was good and very tasty and worth the money while the antipasto was nothing special at all and worth maybe half of what they charged. Not a great valve or really tasty at all. Service was decent. Wanted to buy their snifter glass but the server said it was $7.00 BUT if I go to their other location in West Omaha , it would only be $5.00. What? Seriously? Even after I drank a brew and spent close to $30? I didn't buy the glass. Overall, which their brew was good, some improvement is needed.

Once you get past the families and strip mall the beer is great. Service this last time was a bit interesting, but the place is a must stop if you are driving through Nebraska. Or if you live there, I am jealous of the beer you get to enjoy.

Very good food, very good beer, EXCELLENT service! The only drag was that the server told me how much better the other location would be. Now I have to go back to Omaha for another visit!

The best brewery in Nebraska. Their flagship Cardinal Pale Ale carries a strong lineup of beers. If you are looking for a great brewery this one is a must try.
