Sister bierhall to Die Bierstube and Prost!

A good variety of the standard German brews. The menu is priced fairly and the food itself is rather good. The one negative is lack of parking in the area, but that's the case with most of Seattle these days. I will go back, but that is because of lack of other bars in the area that serve a multitude of German beers.

I stopped in at Feierabend the other night while checking out places around my new office. It's got a great Bavarian-basement feel to it; it's small but welcoming inside, with a certain feel of camaraderie.

There were 15 German beers on tap along with a modest bottle selection. Pours are available in the most civilized size: 1-liter Maßkrug (although I limited myself to two half-liter portions of Licher Lager and Köstritzer Schwarzbier).

I like this place a lot, and can see coming back. Service was your basic bar service: the staff know what they are doing, and were friendly enough. I didn't sample their food menu, a problem which I shall have to rectify on my next visit.

A: First off, this place is located in the middle of the Mercer mess so getting here is a pain. It is in a odd location located at the bottom of a apartment complex. It is extremely small and overcrowded. Lots of ties, locals and it seemed to be a very "cool" place to be.

Q: The beers on draft were all quality and tasted fresh

S: Blah. The girls did not seem to care about anything. We stood waiting for an open table nearly 15 minutes, not one time did a server attempt to help us or even make eye contact with us.

S: Selection was very good. 18 handles of well chosen beers

F: Did not try food, no time, to busy and unimpressed by the establishment in general so we bailed.

I stopped in while in Seattle on business after finding it on BA. Feierabend is a nice neighborhood pub that features only German beers. They have about 16 on tap. I went with a hef and a dopplebock.

The atmosphere is very comfortable. I really like the simple and authentic wood tables, bar stools and booths. It's got a slight beer hall feel but in a smaller and more comforable setting. The kitchen area is exposed and while I didn't eat, the food smelled great.

Feierabend is well worth a visit if you enjoy German beers and food.

About time I rated Feierabend. If I were rating it strictly against other German beer bars, I would probably rate it considerably higher. But honestly I like the slimmed down little brother (older little brother) version of it in Prost on Greenwood. Now that's my kinda German pub. Feierabend has the most flash, bells, and whistles, but it still lacks 2 things: soul, such as is found at Prost &/or Bierstube, and a wider selection of German beers & brewing styles. They could do an awful lot with their bottle list. To me it's a glaring weakness. The draft line up is better, but could still stand to be more adventurous. Isn't the point to take us on a beer trip around Germany? Oh it's not? My bad.

I'm honored to be the first to describe this place...
Very simply put, Feierabend has 20 quality Germans on Draft. All the bier I have ever had in 7 trips into this place were absolutely(!)Munich-fresh. All are served impeccably in logo'ed glasses. .3l, .5l, and 1l (masskrugs) are available. e.g. If you order a Franziskaner Dunkleweiss, you get it in a Franziskaner glass.

This place is located about 4 blocks into the city from the SE corner of Lake Union. It's heaven for lovers of German bier. This place is one-of-a-kind as far as I know. They draft Paulaner, Spaten, Lowenbrau, Erdinger, Hacker-Pschorr side by side in the towers.

Esp. given the poor dollar vs. euro thing, Feierabend is very reasonably priced. A mass of Weissbier is $9, .5l cost $5, totally worth it! The kitchen serves typical Bavarian fare (jagerschnitzel, Wienerschnitzel, Shweinsaxe, Brats, Spaetzle, etc.) Most of the plates (with sides) cost $9-$13.

The only thing that I think is missing is a couple of nice large Plasmas for watching sports. This place is unbelievable if you like German food & bier!!!
