This stout is smooth, dark, full-bodied, and satisfyingly rich. This brew is aged on fresh peppermint leaves and dark Wilbur Chocolate, giving this stout a powerful aroma and pronounced mint chocolate chip flavor.

Smooth, dark, full-bodied, and satisfyingly rich beer. Aged on fresh peppermint leaves and dark Wilbur Chocolate. Solid taste palate and enjoyable at the brewery.

I have had 3 mint chocolate stouts (Manayunk, Spring House, and Southern Tier) in the past couple weeks. They seem to be a new thing or I just noticed them.

Pours jet black with almost no head.

Smells like baker's chocolate and peppermint. Hints of coffee. Aftertaste isn't super pleasant. Almost a hint of cough syrup.

Mouthfeel-Thick and oily.

This beer is good until the cough syrup after taste. I think if you hear "Mint Chocolate stout", and you are intrigued, you should try to get your hands on Southern Tier Thick Mint. This is better than Manayunk's take, but still not great.

I had already made an assumption of what this beer would taste like so when I finally tried it it tasted very different from my expectations so I was a bit disappointed. The mint is very noticeable in the smell and the taste. The chocolate not so much. I expected a thin mint girl scout cookie so I was disappointed when there wasn't a huge flavor of chocolate. It's still a good beer, just not one that is good for my bar.

I like a good Stout but I'm not a fan of mint. If you like mint and Stout you will love this beer because it is what it says... This is my unbiased review

Popped the top on this 22 oz. bomber and there was nothing but mist coming out with a beautiful spearmint aroma.

Poured a deep dark brown to black body with a 1/2 finger's worth of head, which dissipated to a thing layer of khaki tan bubbles on the top.

Aromas, seriously? Mint, chocolate, roasted malts. Smells like melted mint chocolate chip ice cream with a little bit of coffee. Spearmint dominates though. There's definitely some nuttiness in there as well.

Taste...? Well not what I was expecting, I mean that mint is there, but just in the middle. Chocolate and coffee up front right away, then the mint comes through and finally the malt roastiness.

Medium mouth feel, was thinking it would be fuller, the finish is very clean.

Overall, this beer comes through on it's promise and intent; it's got chocolate and mint! Very enjoyable beer to have in the winter months, glad I picked this one up while I was in PA last month; because it's been a cold and dreary day here in Florida. Not something I would want to drink every day, but definitely worth the try.

22oz bottle, no date. Pours black with a medium sized brown head. Smells of earthy hops, roasted malt, and cocoa. The taste follows closely with rich cocoa, roasted malt, hops, and lots of mint in the aftertaste. The intensity is moderate. Very thin mouthfeel and high carbonation. Overall, the fresh cocoa and mint are unique adjuncts, but the base stout is thin and somewhat weak.
