Poured moderately hard from a bottle into a snifter glass, forming less than a finger of brown head that faded to nothing after a short while. Deep brown/black color, opaque. Smell is dark fruit and chocolate. Taste is a good balance of dark fruit and chocolate, good while cold but improves as it warms. Not too sweet. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Excellent chocolate/Russian Stout, especially for the price ($7.99 for 750 mL).

22 oz. bottle poured into Kane chalice and allowed to warm.
L: Pours dark brown/black with a 1F light brown head. Pretty surprising retention, with lots of sticky lacing and a cap and ring.
S: Mostly roasted malts, a whole mess of them. If there is chocolate it is very dark unsweetened and blends in too well.
T: Exactly as noted in nose. It is a potent blend of roasted malts, with maybe a hint of unsweetened cocoa running through the palate from beginning to end, which is pretty indicative it is present (just go with this). Taste not particularly complex, but it certainly brings the roast. Slightly bitter on finish.
F: Full-bodied, not much carbonation to speak of. Feeling the closing bitterness is a bit out of balance and more consistent with a porter, but without the attendant hopping. Good control of ABV.
O: Big stout, tastes good as long as you like the big roastiness with little adjunct flavor.

Poured from bottle into pint glass. Poured a dark chocolate brown with cocoa and malt sediment. Heavy chocolate and sweet malts on the nose. Taste followed aroma. Heavy body. A very tasty brew

Not as chocolate-forward as Anastasia's Chocolate Fantasy styles itself, but a nice bit of fudginess on the mid-palate and finish once the beer has warmed a bit. Otherwise, nice floral hops and bitterness on the nose for a somewhat dry RIS, with a dark roast on the malts. Then milk chocolate on the tongue rather than bitter dark. Moderate body and carbonation.

L: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a dark brown / black color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a thin, creamy, tan-colored head that quickly dissipated. Pretty good lacing.
S: A solid, but not spectacular, aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruit, and bourbon.
T: Tasted of a fair amount of roasted malt, some light dark fruit (raisins, maybe?), some dark chocolate (not quite enough, though), a mild tinge of bourbon, a little molasses, and coffee. Overall, a decent flavor, but not powerful enough. The malt and molasses seemed more prevalent than the chocolate. Still, it's enjoyable.
F: A solidly carbonated beer with a smooth finish. Medium- to full-bodied.
O: This beer definitely has its good points, but is a little uneven. Worth a look, though.

From the bottle, it pours a dark brown with a light brown head. Some lacing as you enjoy it. Chocolate and roasted malt in the nose and mouth. Lighter feel than one would expect for an Imperial Stout. Interesting, though...

Deep dark color with huge tan head and spotty lacing. Aromas of semi-sweet chocolate and some roasted malts. Taste has bitter chocolate with touches of roasty malts and a bit of bourbon taste and feel. Mouthfeel is light and overall, this RIS seems to be missing some complexity and harder flavors that I would expect from a 10.52abv Imp Stout, slightly subdued and a bit watery.
