A good solid beer. I drank this one from the bottle so I cannot comment on the color. It smells like a strong beer and tastes a little bitter, but a good bitter. Definitely not for chugging! Something to drink one or two of, not an afternoon beer. Will drink again.

A: Yellow orange in color, a slight bit of haze and a decent sized off white head.

S: Light citrus and honey at first, after that is orange, and tropical fruit. Some sweetness in the finish with maybe some mango.

T: Full of fruity goodness. Mango, pineapple, and orange. Perhaps a touch cloying, but good. Slight pungent earthy bitterness lingers through the finish.

M: Medium mouthfeel, with light carbonation.

O: Overall I like the flavor, but it is bordering on being a little cloying.

Two finger head which leaves plenty of chunky lace globs on the glass. Dark amber color and cloudy.

The smell is gentle blend of semisweet malt sugars and floral hop.

The taste starts with a pale malt flavor but by the swallow, it becomes far more dark, like deeply toasted bread. The hop is solid, particularly after the swallow where it dominates the aftertaste as a black pepper spice. The body is full and the carbonation is middle-of-the-road. The combination works and is powerful enough to cover any alcohol warmth that may be present (although I do feel it in my stomach).

Pours a dark orange, great head retention. Really enjoying the citrus aroma on this one. Citra and falconers flight stand out. Taste largely follows, a little sweet but it is a double. The wheat blend is well executed.

Has the cloudy body and big carbonation of a wheat, with a darker, more orange body. There is a thinner but persistent cap of an off-white dense foamy head. There are big smears of tight sticky head. The aroma is pretty weak, just hints of grainy sweetness with a faint whiff of floral hops. The taste, though, is much more flavorful, with bigger hops flavors (tropical fruit and citrus), and a more robust malt quality. It has a medium-weight body with slight but steady carbonation.

A strong beer, but lacking character.

There was a mix of bitter and strong malty flavors. On the first sip, I didn't care for it, but subsequent sips became more enjoyable.
Very strong malt flavors with a bitter aftertaste. It reminds me more of a barleywine but with the bitterness of an IPA.

Poured an orange body with two finger head and lace ring down glass. Soapy, earthy, spicy citric hopped aroma with minimal malt presence. A real dry, soapy, dirty, fuller bodied (thanks to wheat twang) IPA that is full of citric hops but has a touch of grapefruit sweetness and malt sweetness in background. A mostly dry IPA that finished a tad bitter but suited this hophead just fine.

Served on-tap in a short 11 oz snifter at South Street Brewery (Charlottesville, VA).

A: Dark blood orange with short cap of off-white tightly bubbled head with decent retention and a few bars of lacing.

S: Slightly soapy at first but this floral/herbal note fades to a slightly dank but mostly orange and grapefruit citrus ride

T: Really enjoyable but not over the top with grapefruit and orange mixing with some honeysuckle herbal overtones and light dank in the mid-palate. Medium bitterness. Medium L crystal maltiness is subtle and not overbearing in the least.

M: Great job of achieving a dry finish while avoiding wateriness

O: I enjoyed this capper but I think I liked Bumper Crop a little more.
