Named for a Cold War-era CIA operation (look it up!), Acoustic Kitty is a big, bold double IPA. Oats contribute body and head retention, and tons of American hops make this DIPA a start to finish hop explosion.

Careful what you say -- you never know who’s listening…

16-ounce can poured into a Jester King Snörkel tulip glass.

Appearance: Dark amber, looks like fresh honey when held up to the light. My favorite color for a beer. Head is nice and sticky, lacing nicely as the beer is drunk.

Smell: Very herbal, in the best sense. Just a hop rush through the nostrils. Ever so slightly dank, but mostly the smell of fresh-cut herbs.

Taste: Man, this is delicious. The malt is creamy, slightly sweet, and the perfect base for a rush of complex hop flavors. Spicy, with notes of lemongrass, orange peel, mint, and a hint of pine needles, it lingers and mellows on the palate as you breathe, going from a dry finish to a sweet aftertaste. I really like the addition of oat flakes in the brew. It brings a fine balance to what could be just another hop bomb. In fact, that’s the standout here. Every element of the beer is in balance with each other. Very Zen.

Mouthfeel: Smooth with a thicker body. Feels particularly bubbly, guarding against any ethanol burn.

Overall: Had this before on tap at the brewery and loved it. I’m happy to say this kitty is just as nice once adopted to a good home. Probably going to be my go-to DIPA for the time being.

The label says "ENJOY BY 5-15-18 B-005" So this is about two weeks past.

Appearance: It has a murky bronze body that is completely opaque. The head is medium sized with a tobacco stained yellow and white head. It has very good head retention and lacing.

Aroma: There is a light bit of caramel aroma with a hint of earthy and herbal hops. It has a bit of a mint aroma and just a light touch of pine.

Taste: The flavor from start to finish is slightly sweet with caramel and a soft herbal flavor. There is an herbal bitterness to the beer and it has a bit of tea leaf flavor, mint, and a touch of lemon.

Mouthfeel: It is very easy to drink this beer. It is smooth with a medium-light body and mild bitterness.

Overall; It's a nice herbal tasting Double IPA with just a touch of sweetness. It is very easy to drink and I would recommend it to others. I would drink it again.

L: Poured from a bottle to a tulip glass. Had an amber color and a clear consistency. There was a small amount of foamy head that didn't last particularly long. OK lacing.

S: A very enticing aroma of hops, citrus fruit, malt, and the advertised oats.

T: Tasted of some of the oats (not as much as I expected), a bit of malt, lots of hops (just the right amount), light fruit (grapefruit, lemon), and a hint of caramel. A complex, sweet, powerful flavor. Incredibly well balanced, with just the right amount of hops and fruit.

F: A well-carbonated beer with a lively finish. Medium-bodied.

O: While this isn't quite the greatest DIPA ever, it is exceptionally drinkable. Well done and tasty.

Body is a clear amber color with about a fingers width of white head that dissipates and leaves a little residue on the glass and around the rim of the glass. Smells like opening a feedbag of oats, tropical fruit, a little pine, and some roasted malts. Tastes of citrus up front but quickly fades into malts and finally into an oat finish. Finishes clean and quickly away with only a little lingering bitterness. Slightly less than medium body. Overall, it's nice, I could certainly put away a few of these.

The body is slightly cloudy, a darker amber with a nice golden tint to it when it catches the light. There is a slight amount of barely creamy white head. It has a nice pine hops aroma with maybe a little citrus and the taste adds to the hops with a nice caramel sweet malt. The body has a little thickness to the way it feels but a very slight but persistent tingle of carbonation.

Pours golden with ample head and a good amount of carbonation. Aromas are very citrusy and you can almost get the nose of a NE IPA, almost.......Taste is decent, but very dry and the malts and the hops fight for dominance. Also getting a slightly bitter soapy feel and taste. Overall, good kick with nice citrus and malt backbone, but just too much all over the place and does not come together quite like it should, slightly unbalanced and unstable
