On tap at HopCat on December 29, 2010. Served in a tulip.

Pours a really nice garnet color with a creamy off-white head that starts out at a single finger and falls slowly, leaving a bit of lacing behind. There is a really nice malt background to the nose. It's definitely in the background, as a bit of light cinnamon and other spicing come through. Not really able to pick out too many individual spices, which I consider a compliment as nothing really stood out too much though I could tell it was spiced.

The taste was the same in that the spices were the dominant characteristic, though didn't completely overwhelm. A nice bready, slightly-sweetened malt bill carried the background. The mouthfeel was nice--medium body aided by the nitro serving. Drank pretty well though was a bit much for an extended period, though I definitely enjoyed this much more so than the other HopCat beers I had.
