Hazy pour, head dissipates quickly.
Nice sweetness, not over the top.
Lightly toasted malts come through.
Full mouthfeel.
Solid marzen.
Hope to see it on tap sometime.

Appearance: Slightly hazy golden orange in color, with a moderate, fine-beaded white head, which retains fairly well. Belgian-style lacing adorns the glass walls. Minute bubbles adhere to the glass, below the surface.
Aroma: A slightly, earthy, moderately tart aroma presents, with less of the sweet caramel than I would have expected. A slight metallic hop presence is notable.
Taste: Begins with tangy, almost sour amber malt, with a light toasted character. This is soon followed by some toasted bread and caramel notes, Towards the finish, there is a medicinal and metallic hop presence, which, along with slightly sour malt, brings the taste to a balanced close.
Mouthfeel: Full, with slightly aggressive, stinging carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: An interesting and distinctive rendition of the superb Oktoberfest style, of which most examples make no pretense of individuality. In this crowded field of where well-crafted examples are the norm, Southern Star Oktoberfest manages to cast its own light.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce aluminum can, served in the Save the World Brewing teku.

Look is hazy dark copper. Very minimal tan head. Carbonation is less than average. While the taste is ok, its not as full or as authentic as it could be. Sweet Munich malt but not as much toasted flavor as others. Mouthfeel is heavy medium, almost too thick. This is good but not great, there are better examples of the style.

Consumed straight from the bottle. Neutral, but pleasant. No memories were made.

Pours clear burnt orange. Minimal head with poor retention.
Nose is light caramel and bready malts.
Taste follows. Light caramel and lightly toasted bready, biscuity malts. Subtle earthy hop character. Nothing dominates.

Appearance: Amber glass with good clarity. Struggles to hold a head and doesn't lace.
Aroma: Toasty malt, earthy almost tonic water base keeps it from being sweet.
Taste: Toast malt again, noble hops, right on target for style. Clean and easy drinking.
Mouthfeel: Medium light body, dry finish
Overall: Great Oktoberfest, a little light, but no flaws. Great session beer.

Pours a clear orangish-golden color with off-white head that dissipates quickly. Caramel malt, bread, cereal, and a little bread on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with more malty goodness. Nice Oktoberfest.

Pours a slightly cloudy amber color with a thin carbonated head. Head retention is minimal. Lacing is non-existent. Slightly bready. Mild spice. More of a bready taste with some fall spiciness. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Enjoyable beer. Not the best Marzen I have had but good.
