12 oz. can poured into nonic
(paper label on can says 11/24/14 ... bought can as a loose single at HEB, and no dating on actual can)

L: 50/50 opaque/clear gold ... no amber in it but there floaties, lots of them which is standard for Southern Star; decent 1/2-inch head of white foam that disappears quickly but leaves a tidy tight collar; slight lacing

S: creamed corn, corn, sour grain

T: sweet creamed corn ... malty mush with only the slightest hint of a black-pepper/English hop bitterness in the lingering aftertaste; loads of grain; hay

F: very nice ... an easy drinker with average carbonation

O: mostly a creamed corn mush but that lingering bitterness, though very subtle, helps smooth out the big sweetness up front; typical of the style, it's got a lot of American adjunct lager-like taste to it, but there's nothing wrong with it at all. a beer best suited for the hot months and while not remarkable in any way, I might call for one from time to time out and about.

Pours hazy gold with small white head, smells of wheat and bready malts, tastes heavy on yeast and roasty malts, thin smooth mouthfeel. This beer would go well with a game of baseball.
