Pale lager with a distinctive bitter taste and strong hoppy aroma. This beer is made using traditional technology typical for Czech beers. It’s fermented in open fermenting rooms and matures at low temperatures in lagering cellars.

16.9 oz bottle, no freshness date.

Pours out pale straw and sits golden amber in the glass with a 1/2 finger fluffy white head, nice lacings, and likes to stick around for the show.

Aroma is all malts, sugary sweet. Some nice, light floral background to it, smells kind of like tulips. Fruitiness is minimal, some fresh apples and green grape skins.

Taste is a full, malty presence. Sugary sweet with fruit concentrate like characteristics, apple primarily, some grapelike sourness as well. Hopping is purely herbal, adding a very mild spiciness to the mix. Finish is nicely bittered.

Voluminous in the mouth, medium body, smooth, rich and very mild, natural feeling carbonation. Easily fits into your mouth in every way.

I have no major quarrels with the beer. It's look, smell, taste and feel is all there. Granted, it's nothing to sing about, but it doesn't dissapoint. Bottle is drained with ease.

Bottle looks kind of American...never heard of this before ; ) 4.8% is a bit low, I want that extra 0.2%.

Well defined head, fairly large bubbles, really clear beneath the bubbles and not much rising effervescaence aside from the manifested effervescence. If that makes sense. Aroma is a little malty and heavy, with some covert honey elements.

After the Urpiner from across the border that I just drank, this is definitely not comparable. The mouth feel is much thinner and it's a much simpler, less complex beer. The hops are fairly typical Czech, but kind of light and not particularly bitter. The taste is really simple and kind of disappears as soon as it hits the tongue, and doesn't change. In terms of flavour, I detect honey, maybe some faint mandarin peel and peach peel. Maybe if I hadn't drunk it after an Urpiner it would get a better review. It's totally fine, just a bit too thin and it lacks complexity and it's really like a typical Czech pilsner, but not a good one. I think the creators realized this, so to differentiate it, they called it "Rebel".

But it actually isn't. It's literally a typical Czech pilsner and it's not even 5%. It's a mummy's boy interpretation of a Czech pilsner. Rebel is designed to make you think it's really cool, but actually it isn't.

Also the honey taste is a bit on the strong side. Honey is rebellious? I think not. This is far too sweet and it lacks the feeling of a real Czech pilsner. Add more hops and increase the strength to 6%. This is far to thin and effervescent and it tastes like honey. Maybe the creator was working for a proper brewery and was smoking cannabis instead of going to work, so he got sacked and made this instead. I guess that is why it's called Rebel ; )

500ml bottle bought in the USA. No dates so no idea how old this beer is.
L: Clear, pale amber with many streams of bubbles rising to a thin head and spotty lacing.
S: Surprisingly sweet. No hop aroma.
T: Grainy and semi-sweet. Bitterness is low. Hop profile is low. Not spicy or grassy. Has a metallic aftertaste.
F: Medium body, low carbonation, oily mouthfeel. Not at all crisp.
O: Definitely no Czech pilsner. This has all the characteristics of a bog standard American-style lager. Disappointing.

Served from 500 ml bottle.
Appearance is clear, but a tad darker than most.
Aroma is cereal and hay, followed by a yeasty character, lacking in any floral hops.
Taste is malt forward, reminds me of the beers in Prague, but a little more hop bitterness in the finish.
Big, malty mouthfeel, with a light carbonation.
Overall, it is like an authentic Czech in terms of style, but lacks freshness.

Pours a medium golden amber with a fine, half finger white head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of grassy hops, grainy biscuit malt. Flavor is bready and grainy biscuit malt. Finishes with lingering dry grassy hops, with moderate astringency; lightly metallic. Medium bodied with light creaminess and sharp carbonation. The look, feel and aroma are all classic Czech pilsner. The flavor starts with nice biscuit and bread dough malt and somewhat sharp grassy hops, but there is an off-flavor to hops that mars the finish. No date on the bottle, and I expect that the hops may have aged poorly. Too bad, because otherwise this is a classic Czech pilsner brewed in the home region of the style.

Honey like and slightly Amber look....head dissipates quickly.Smells like an old time bar....a bit musty. I see this as the Czech Republics inexpensive everyday working man's beer. Slight bitter after taste.

Pours a copper tinged golden color. Thin white head settles into a thin velvety layer of residual foam on top of the beer. Some mild lacing is left behind.

Smell is bready with some floral hops and a hint of metallic minerality. The prevailing aroma is bready malts. As it warms that metallic note becomes stronger and more noticeable.

Taste is initially bready with some notes of floral hops. Strong metallic flavor on the back end - unpleasant. On the sweet side.

Feel is light to medium bodied but somewhat coats the mouth with that old hop bitterness. Moderate carbonation. Semi-dry finish.

Overall an alright Czech pilsner. The metallic flavor is just too much to ignore and is unpleasant.

169 fluid ounce bottle. I bet I’ve never said that before. Crystal clear light gold colour, impressive head of foam. Lacing is good as well. The smell is of sweet bread backed by grassy hops. Not as sweet in the taste. Grass with bready malt that works for me. Grainy. Not like a PU but serviceable and...cheap.
