I poured this cheap looking beer into my tumbler at 50 degrees. The beer had a nice golden color and that was all that was nice. The smell was slightly sour and I thought the taste was sour or flat also. The head was nonexistant as was any lacing. Very poor quality beer and I will not buy again.

Poured from 16.9oz bottle into 23oz NY Mets pilsner glass.

Appearance: Golden color with a medium-sized white head that dissipates somewhat quickly, leaving behind spotty lace.

Smell: Sweet grains dominate, with some grain husk hints and mild citrus. Corn notes.

Taste: Begins with sweet grains and citrus hints, finishing grainy with mild grassy hops and some sweet apple flavor. The aftertaste is a lot like corn...

Mouthfeel: Lighter, crisp body with sharp carbonation and a clean, refreshing finish.

Drinkability: Having enjoyed many Czech pilsners while living in Slovakia for three months, I consider myself somewhat an expert on the style. This one is a bit lacking compared to many, but isn't necessarily bad. Fairly average overall- I can't say it's not worth it, but there are others of the style I would try before this one. A real Czech pils shouldn't have the corn flavors, either, but luckily this one doesn't have overwhelming corn notes, preventing it from being terrible.

Clear, golden in color, with a white head. Large bubble of carbonation and a bit lacing are present. This brew has a semi-sweet, grainy aroma. The flavor again is of grain with a bit of sweetness in the start. The finish is abrupt and dry. The hop bitterness is minimal. I also detected a bit of a metallic flavor in this one. Overall it is a smooth, easy drinking beer; nothing extraordinary stands out.

Serving: Bottle poured into footed pilsener
Served: 6 June 2013

Appearance: Light, of course, and uncomplicated. Actually seems a bit redder than most pilseners, almost like a red gold color, but not quite. When poured, pours a great two finger white head that quickly dissipates, leaving but a trace. Little lacing when drank. Seems light and effervescent.

Smell: The smell is pretty clean. Smells 'beer-y', without much more to say. You can't really discern any notable hop notes, though you can smell the malt just a little.

Taste: Clean and unadulterated. A slightly above average pilsener- a nice light malt backbone piggybacks on just a kiss of hops on the back end. Finishes 'dry', in the wine sense, which invites another sip. I've had better pilseners, and would like to see a more assertive hop profile in this one, though remaining subtle, as to the style.

Mouthfeel: Very effervescent and bubbly. Unfortunately, the carbonation seems to dissipate quickly.

Overall: Not the best pilsener I've had, but not the worst. I remember Pilsener Urquell in Germany being better than this, since the fresher beer kept just the most subtle kiss of hops more forward in the flavor profile than this one.

A: Pours golden with a thin head that settles very quickly. Head retention is low, but lacing is somewhat decent.

S: There is not alot on the nose. Some biscuity malt and a faint hint of fruity, floral hops.

T: More malty than other Czech Pilseners. Fruity, with hints of toast, and it's finish is dry, with hints of grass and green fruits.

M: The best quality this beer has is the mouthfeel. It's medium bodied, and somewhat viscous. The finish is longer than other beers of this style.

D: This beer is enjoyable, and easy to drink, but there are others of this style that I would go for first.

Very light bodied Czech Pilsner. It is what the macro-brewers beer should taste like. 99 cents for a half of a liter (17 ounces), which is a great deal. Highly recommended.

12 oz brown bottle
This beer is a very clear golden color. The white head did not last long at all. There is light hop aroma with a little malt also. This beer starts out very crisp then slightly malty with an odd finish. A pretty average easy drinking beer.

I began a sushi-eating, beer drinking, presidential inauguration watching session with this beer the other day. Poured a clear gold with a small white head. More colorful than most pilseners. Aromas was faint but good: grassy hops and honeysweet malts. Lovely taste: perfectly balanced light malts with a grassy hop finish. Well-crafted, light body. Eminently drinkable and refreshing; an excellent way to kick off a session. A solidly made, flavorful pilsener.

Light puffs of dusty cereals over a base apple juice sweetness. Robust gold body, active, covered in a swampy haze.

Great bitter hop overtones in the mouth and a medium body. Medium carbonation. As it warms, it develops a bizarre ginger ale taste, which I enjoyed. Aftertaste is weak and metallic, which makes it sound like it's strong and powerful--but really it's not that good.

99 cents for 1 pint 9 ounces? This is a steal compared to any American macro. Refreshing, quirst-quenching, with a light hop, but decent malt presence. Almost as faavorful as Czechvar. I like this better than Pilsner Urquell.

Rebel Pilsner pours 2 stiff fingers of head over a clear yellow
brew. Carbonation is spritzy, and the nose is light barley malt
and lager yeast. The flavor is Czech Pilsner all the way- mellow
light malt up front balanced by spicy/herbal Saatz hops. Mouthfeel
is crisp and light, just the way it's supposed to be. It's not the most
complex Pils I've had, but it's perfectly drinkable, authentic, and worth a
try.

16.9 oz bottle, no freshness date.

Pours out pale straw and sits golden amber in the glass with a 1/2 finger fluffy white head, nice lacings, and likes to stick around for the show.

Aroma is all malts, sugary sweet. Some nice, light floral background to it, smells kind of like tulips. Fruitiness is minimal, some fresh apples and green grape skins.

Taste is a full, malty presence. Sugary sweet with fruit concentrate like characteristics, apple primarily, some grapelike sourness as well. Hopping is purely herbal, adding a very mild spiciness to the mix. Finish is nicely bittered.

Voluminous in the mouth, medium body, smooth, rich and very mild, natural feeling carbonation. Easily fits into your mouth in every way.

I have no major quarrels with the beer. It's look, smell, taste and feel is all there. Granted, it's nothing to sing about, but it doesn't dissapoint. Bottle is drained with ease.

Rebel Czech Pilsener was a clear amber color with a half inch, off-white head that quickly faded to a collar.

The aroma was just a sweet grainy smell, with zero skunk aroma.

The taste was sweet, grain (hey, it's a pilsener), and bread & buttery. Just a little bit of salt too.

The mouth feel was almost medium bodied, oil and reasonable carbonated.

The drinkability was fine, taste being better than adequate and a respectably low 4.4 ABV.

A bit better than the average pilsener. I noticed a lightly musty aroma late in the beer after it had warmed.

Poured out of a 12 oz. bottle into my trusty Duvel tulip.

A - Pours a nice light golden color with about a one inch head. Just a bit of lacing.

S - Has a fruity smell with a nice apple tinge to it. Get some light grapes smell as well. Light smell altogether.

T - Very much like the smell it has a sweet taste. You definitely get the fruit.

M - Light bodied with a decent amount of carbonation. Refreshing for sure.

D - Yes. This is a nice light beer. Would take a 6 pack out on a boating trip for sure.

Real nice appearance in the glass. Calm, gold color. Steady carbonation. Starts real easy and ends with a hop aftertaste. Good brew to swill and inexpensive too, which means you can swill plenty. Unexpectedly good flavor from a cheap beer. Goes well with a brat or two at a summer barby-Q.
