Picked up a single at the State Liquor Store in Vernal, UT. Around $2.00.
A: Poured a very dark brown with a cream colored head, about an inch thick which receded to almost nothing. Nice dark red accents when held to the light. Quite a bit darker than other dark lagers I've had. No lacing to speak of.
S: Pale malts, and roasted dark malts, faint hints of chocolate as well. Nutty, buttery flavors as well. Has a few reminiscent smells of a porter, some of an English brown ale too. Smells very good.
T: Nutty, roasted malts, slightly buttery, with a little more of a roasted malt hint. Slightly metallic taste that is somewhat offsetting, but its pretty well hidden. Definite lager characteristics, but the brown ale flavors really shine in this one. Not bad at all. Pretty simple.
M: A little towards the thin side, carbonation is balanced, lingering flavors stay in the mouth for quite some time. Not as dry as I had figured. Still a good lighter feeling dark beer.
D: Not bad at all, pretty simple flavors, but tasty nonetheless. Goes down easy. This could be a good session. A good change of pace for the brown ale drinker.

330mL bottle Best before L323T405 (whatever that means) poured into a shaker pint glass at fridge temp 4.7% ABV. The beer pours opaque very dark brown with ruby highlights and khaki colored head. The head recedes to a thin ring and island. The aroma is mild with roasted and toasted malt. The taste is bittersweet roasted malt. Moderate bitterness, kind of watery and flabby. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation and a semi dry finish. Overall, not great.

Way too much diacetyl. So much. Sickening amount. I could not even finish this. There was some roasty char and coffee like flavors but the amount of diacetyl would make your head spin.

Not sure how some beers are ranked so low, this was pleasant and very enjoyable.
Pours a very dark brown, if held up to bright light you can see crystal clear dark brown. The head left pretty quick but a thin layer of creamy carbonation has remained halfway through the glass. There is also some decent lacing on the top half of the glass.
Immediately smell chocolate, like a lighter creamier chocolate not a strong bitter dark chocolate. It also has a toasted bread smell to it too along something reminiscent of cola.
The tastes is mostly the same creamy chocolate that is very prominent in the aroma. There is also a very subtle pleasant roasty flavor. There is also just the smallest touch of something fruity, I don’t even think I can put a name on it but I’ll try...It’s almost like a candied apple that has no sour/tart to it.
Mouthfeel is medium and very smooth and creamy. Very clean finish despite a moderate sweetness, it vanishes very quickly after the sip goes down.
My favorite thing is the smooth chocolate note I keep tasting and smelling. It’s so prominent I think some people would be convince this had chocolate in it. The sweetness combined with how smooth and clean it is also is a very nice characteristic of this beer.

Taste: rich, smoked, sweet malty profile with a mellow finish. Spicy, earthy, malty nose. Dark brown hue, semi clear, with a tan foamy head and webbed lace. Medium/light body.

Pours with thick, fluffy beige head, body is dark brown and relatively clear. Light aroma and taste of roast grains, sweet malt, burnt toast. Nice mouthfeel, medium weight. Abrupt finish.
