Style: American Blonde Ale

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 4.53%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
A good starter beer for those that have only drank the mass produced suds. The blonde is a light, crisp beer with a slight malt flavor and just enough Czechoslovakian Saaz hops to balance the malt sweetness.

Served on tap at Blanco Tacos in the Phoenix Airport. Good spot with a few local options if you are ever stuck here.

A: Pale yellow/orange color with some carbonation and little head.

S: Slight biscuit, but not much else there

T: Again with the biscuit, but then some under toned citrus and bitterness in the finish.

M: Very refreshing and easy to drink

This would be a very good easy drinking summer beer at a BBQ. Very straight forward and a OK offering.

On-tap at Noble Hops in Tucson. It's a clean blonde, but I was hoping this would be closer to Chelsea's Checker Cab Blonde, which has a nice clean bready character. This was clean, no flaws, but the barley and citrus hops were very mild. Yes, the beer was refreshing and not too light, but I'd have wanted more flavor.

Pours a clear yellow with some head. Scent mild hop with old beery smell. A light, bubbly very very pale beer with a hint of malt and hops. It distinctly lacks the "swill" character of the average light-ish mass beers. A good intro into the craft beer world, though not one of it's finer representatives.

Hazy golden color, smells of bread. Biscuit and honey on the palate with some mild hop bitterness. Very refreshing blonde ale with more of a lager feel than I'd usually expect in a ABA, but delicious none the less.

Fast, explosive center-column of effervescence; a bit of floating sediment; good retention of its moderate (especially for a blonde) head, with a ton of lacing and a quite palatable sudsy quality in the mouthfeel. While somewhat soft, there's a nice grainy, slightly tilled-earth bouquet that lifts out of this blonde when decanted into a tulip-pint; it's matched by a slightly Saaz-flowery, slightly fruited-malt flavor-profile, that's smooth, actually pretty delicate, and very easy-drinking. There's good crispness, good lightness, but nonetheless solid depth for a blonde on the lighter, milder end of the spectrum. Though it's nothing about which to get overly romantic, it's definitely a "good starter beer" indeed.

It wasn't a bad beer. Just not too memorable.

On-tap @ Chuy's, Tuscon, AZ:

Pours golden with a thin head that gradually dissipates. Spotted lacing sticks.

The smell is of fruity yeast, cream. Fresh.

The taste is of fruity yeast and grain. Just enough grassy and floral hops to give it balance. Floral finish.

Very smooth. Fuller side of the style. Refreshing.

A good example of the style. Light with a pleasant character, but not thin.
