Stopped by while passing through Big Sky. New and modern with a ski chalet vibe, located in a small commercial complex. Unfortunately the business next door blocks the spectacular view of Lone Peak. Pretty small on the inside, empty as we got there at opening. Small selection of taps, barrel aged bers were pretty good. Worth a stop though, as Beehive Basin is just up the road.

i liked this little spot up in big sky, worth a stop for sure. we came in around lunch time for a couple of beers and some soup, and the soup was excellent, both the tomato and the beer cheese, the other food they had looked good too! the beer list wasnt huge, but its a fairly diverse menu with something for most every palate i would think. i loved the barrel aged stout, a really cool small batch feeling heavy whiskey vibe to it. we were less impressed with the raspberry wheat, but really didnt have anything bad in here at all. cozy mellow vibe in here too, lots of natural light from the big windows, lots of new wood, a ski lodge sort of feel, but not too big. they had suffleboard on one wall, a long bar with a fair few butts in seats, and college football all over the televisions. a good place to hole up for awhile when you are in the area. we didnt have enough time to try all the beers that i wanted to here, so hopefully we will be back next time we are in town. easy going folks here, nothing pretentious, maybe not heady enough for the most discerning of urban beer nerds, but i was more than content to post up and drink ales here!

A nice menu and a good selection of their brews on tap. Pretty descent IPA. good burgers and quesadillas. Walked outside to find four moose chewing on some tree branches. Gotta love Big Sky!

stopped here in August after a long day of hiking - started off with a snifter of the Bourbon Barrel Stout and finished with the IPA - both were very good.

Food was great (went with a Make 'em Angry burger), unpretentious atmosphere, and shuffleboard table.

Stopped by here briefly on the way to a conference at the Summit to pick up a couple growlers. Felt comfortable doing a review. I picked up a growler of their pale ale and winter warmer (not sure what it was doing on tap 4 months before the equinox but hey, not my call). It was a pretty cool place that was fairly busy for a Wednesday night at 6pm. They had a pretty good selection of their beers on tap to choose from. Plus, we had Steve, the head brewer, lined up to do a talk at the conference. He was a very cool guy and knowledgeable about his craft. It was far and away the best talk we listened to. I will definitely continue to support this brewery when I get the chance.

Also, I didn't eat anything but their food menu looked and sounded extremely tasty. Will try to eat there the next time I'm down that way.

Visited the Lone Peak Brewery on recent family vacation to Big Sky. I really enjoyed this place and so did the rest of the family.

Being a home brewer and lover of craft beers, I'm always trying to get everyone to try out any local brewery in every place we go to, and luckily Lone Peak didn't disappoint. The food and beer were both good. Nothing great, but good decent offerings.

I remember having the Angry Bison burger - which was a spiced up burger that came with fries. Very tasty. We also got a bunch of various appetizers and they were all good.

I tried the Nordic Blonde, the Buck Snort Porter and the Hippy Highway Oatmeal Stout and they were all decent. I thought their darker beers outshined the lighter offerings.

They do have a shuffleboard table, but be careful if you have kids... they didn't 'appreciate' how my kids screwed up the perfectly balanced amount of 'salt' on the table and kinda yelled at them for it. I wasn't too happy about that. I understand if you're serious about shuffleboard, but no need to yell at kids - just ask them nicely not to do it anymore.

They also rent out frisbee golf discs for some of the local courses.

All in all, a good local brewpub. I will definitely go back the next time we are in Big Sky!

Made (first) two trips to this newer brewery while in Big Sky December 2009. The place was fairly busy each time and was a small, fairly family-friendly atmosphere. Nice to see they have a small shuffleboard table in one of the corners.

Service was not great either time be it when I went with my family or a group of younger guys. Each time the waitresses seemed disinterested or preoccupied. But to give the benefit of doubt, I'm sure they were quite busy.

As an update from the prior review, they do have a food menu and the chicken sandwich and waffle fries I had were both good.

I had the chance to try the brewski (sampler, 7 styles I think )the second visit and enjoyed several of the beers including the porter, the Bourbon barrel aged winter warmer - Steep and Deep, and the wit, and not-so-impressed with others (IPA, APA).

Prices were very reasonable, especially for a resort town. Would recommend stopping in if you are near Big Sky.

December 2010. Stopped in here again a couple of times. The beer really had not improved much since last time I was there. The Pale and IPA were particularly bland. On the plus side, they have a great variety of beers on tap (9 in the Brewski this time!).

December 2012. Have been coming here 4 winters and noticed a considerable improvement in the quality of the beer this year. Stopped in twice within 4 days and front room was packed both times, so ended upstairs in the studio area. Service does not seem to have improved, but they still boast a 10 (plus?) beer lineup and I was impressed at the improvement in the flavor of the beers across the board. I remember particularly enjoying the bock, blonde, and fresh hop. And the ESB was as tasty as I remembered it.

Sept/Dec 2013. Couple stops this year. Hippy Highway was tasty as always and the Cascadian Dark was nice but the Steep and Deep had yeast issues. And as usual, the service left plenty to be desired. 15-20 min waits for growler fills, with zero comment from bartenders.

Dec 2014. Great service both times I stopped in. Friendly bartenders and prompt service, even on what was described by the owner as "a record day". The new "XPA" was also delicious. Here's hoping this is the new trend, service-wise.

Visited March '08 and had a wonderful experience. They only serve appetizers, but they are fantastic. Beers are all good to very good. Pretty good selection: blonde, APA, IPA, ESB, Porter, Stout and a seasonal Winter Warmer. All have pronounced hop character, including the darker beers.

Brewmaster went to high school in Belgium and has been seriously brewing for a number of years. He (Stever Nordahl) is super friendly and seems to be ever present at the brewery. Great employees and waitstaff. Also a very Dead friendly establishment!

Highly recommended to stop in if you are at Big Sky.

Winter hours 12-9pm daily, plus $2 pints from 7:30-8pm Sun-Thurs.
