Tap at Universal City Walk...
Wow. Judging by past reviews, this recipe has been reformulated. Look, I work for a top notch producer of Pale Ales, I KNOW solid Pale Ales. This is one of them and then some. A blend of Cascade and Motueka hops.
Pours a transparent orange toned amber with a small white cap that slowly fades away. Scattered bits of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of vibrant citrus, herbs, orange, lemon-lime, flowers, and ripe fruit.
Taste is of the aromas with a fruity citrus flavor that mildly drops off from the aromas.
Mouthfeel is citrusy along the palate with effervescent bubbles tickling the back of the tongue before hitting a dry, and appropriate finish.

On tap at the California Pizza Kitchen in Anaheim, CA on 7/7/11 (I guess this is not a retired beer anymore).

A - Light to medium amber colour with a half finger of somewhat thick bubbly off-white head.

S - Citrusy hops, some bitterness and a slight malt sweetness. Inviting nose.

T - Citrus flavours come through from the hops with a slight bitterness and a nice sweet malt backbone. Some pine shows up too but citrus is definitely the predominant flavour here.

M - Light body. Moderate carbonation that was a little too much at times. 3.5

On draft at Karl Strauss Universal City, 11/26/07.

Expected medium yellow/amber color, decent carbonation and head retention. Aroma positively reeks of dishsoap with a strange overtone of underarm deodorant. Soapy glass, perhaps? Flavor likewise dominated by soap. Pine, citrus hop flavor and a tidbit of malt come and go before the lingering, soapy finish ruins the whole thing.

Pint last night at Karl Strauss in Costa Mesa for around five dollars I think, reviewed from notes, favorite of the night as well as the other people I was with

A-Golden yellow color with a touch of orange, 3/4 inch foamy white head, lasted for a couple minutes, decent retention, some lacing
S-Caramel, other malts, grapefruit, nice smelling hops, lemon juice, hints of pine, and resin
T-Hops from the start, pine and citrus, light malt in the middle, some straw, then more hops in the finish, all tastes were rather light but crisp and pronounced, got less aggressive as it warmed but I preferred it cold, nice balanced pale that I wanted more of
M-Medium body, nice popping level of carbonation, bitter, crisp, and hoppy mouthfeel, taste lasts fairly long for a pale ale
D-Could drink several pints of this and I probably should have judging by the other beers sampled, goes down easy and is very low in alcohol, smooth and refreshing

Wish they bottled this, one of the better beers from them that I have tasted, too bad it is only a summer seasonal as well, missed this at Naja's a few weeks back and glad I got to try it here instead, would drink again, recommended
