The Scale House's Pilsner has a dull, golden colored body without a trace of head, which means there is no lacing or retention either.

The aroma has a bit of pale malt sweetness coupled with a hint of lemon.

The flavor follows the aroma. Some lightly toasted pale malt and a hint of lemony hops comes first, followed by a unspecific pale malt sweetness. The house yeast provides a touch of fruitiness also. As far as I can tell the hops are somewhere in here, but they don't really express themselves that much, which is a disappointment. The lemon flavored hops that are in there seem to be saaz, so at least it fits the style well.

Mouthfeel is light with carbonation that is a bit lacking, but nothing terrible.

This Pilsner is an OK beer, but not something I would order with another craft option on the table.

Off tap at the brewery this Pilsner was a hazy golden color with no head. Thus, no lacing either. The aroma was very light, Pilsner malt and some faint, crisp hops. The flavors were washed out and dry with some slightly toasty grains first and lemon zest. The center was bland and the finish was of doughy malt. Clearly not the crispness one would hope for from a Pils. The mouthfeel was watery, the body light and the carbonation appropriate.
