Notes:
I am Pepe Loco. El Campeon! Defender of good taste. Wearer of tight pants. I dare other Mexican Lagers to combat my smooth, balanced style. They fail! For I am the crisp, crushable Mexican-style lager. But I am not unbeatable. Even though I was built to crush other beers, you were built to crush me. Pick me up. Slam me. Do a victory dance. It’s time to get Loco.

Poured at fridge temp from a 12-ounce can into a glass tumbler. Clear pale yellow in color, with a couple of fingers of snow white head that disappeared rather quickly. No lacing. Aromas and flavors of grainy malt, hay, and apple cider vinegar. There is also an unmistakable note of cocoa (no kidding!). Good carbonation, light mouthfeel, low bitterness, and a crisp and dry finish round out the profile. I thought this was much better cold, as the finish tends to be more tart and slightly oily as the beer warms. Still, a refreshing and perfectly drinkable beer. Salud!

Draft pint at Whole Foods Santa Fe. Silvery yellow extremely clear with minimal foamy head. Grainy corny fresh water smell and taste. Almost no hop. Flavor is bigger than it looks. If thought of as beer flavored water it works quite nicely. Would be a spectacular lawnmower beer or beach beer. A much better alternative to the big boys.

12oz can poured into Duvel tulip. Best Before 08/03/19 printed on bottom of can. So this should still have 3 months of freshness in it. Should.
Appearance - Extremely pale and clear straw body. It's such a pale color it almost appears white on back light. Has a pearly white seafoamy head with moderate-low stick and good retention. Decent carbonation. 4.5
Smell - Dry cardboard and corny grain. 2
Taste - Musky grain up front but quickly gives way to a thin honey like sweetness before vanishing from the palate almost entirely other than a faint dry cardboard aftertaste. 2.25
Mouthfeel - Light to medium bodied. The weird sharp astringency prevent it from being very refreshing, which is a major problem for a style of beer that exist almost entirely for the purpose of being refreshing. 1.75
Overall - The biggest crime an American Adjunct Lager can commit is being challenging to drink or lacking a refreshing quality. Judgement: Guilty! 1.75
