Our 2nd place IPA. Only the Cant Dog is stonger, although arguments abound as to who is hoppier. A session IPA? NO! But you can try if you want. One of our personal favorites around the bar.

Purchased @ Marhall Wharf Belfast, Maine
Price: $25.00/growler
Pours medium amber with a soapy white two inch cap covering the top. The head dissipates after a few minutes leaving behind a creamy film. The beer is hazey with very little clarity. Heavy lacing decorates the flared tulip glass and shows off it's stickiness. Fresh, hell ya..
The nose is pretty much pine hops, lemon peels and malt.
The flavor is pine and doughy malt followed by pepper and alcohol. Where's the citrus flavor? I'm getting just a faint taste which is disappointing.
Medium body with a zesty feel. Crisp and clean with a fair amount of sweetness in the beginning followed by a bitter dry finish.
Overall a pretty good beer. I prefer the "Cant Dog" over this if I had my druthers. A little more variation of hops would add some excitement to this brew.

Nice change (clean and crisp, little sweeter) to the in your face IPAs, but still 9%.

Served in a tulip at the Great Lost Bear in Portland
Appearance: A one finger head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a caramel color with great clarity and vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Spotty lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.
Smell: Lemony and floral hops followed by caramel and crystal and a little alcohol in the rear too.
Taste: Same as above. Balanced with light bitterness in the rear. Very clean and straightforward flavor.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, medium to full bodied, light bitterness, medium carbonation, and a little booze.
Overall: Second time around with this one and enjoying it quite a bit. Will be looking for these in cans some day.

A-Pours a clear but somewhat dark amber color. Well built cap. Random lacing.
S-My first thought was how this one was mostly balanced. Sweetness with a pretty buttoned up hoppiness. Think of the standard citrus, pine, caramel and bread crew.
T-Closely approximates the nose. Both malt and hop are robust. Hops offer grass and pine and citrus. Malt relies upon a chewy caramel and muffiny pairing. A trace of alcohol.
M-Fuller bodied. Bitterness sneaks up behind the sweetness. Heats me up a little. Chewy. Medium carbonation.
O-A fairly pedestrian DIPA that reminds me of DIPAs past rather than DIPAs present. Still happy with the pint.
