Poured on-tap and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a brown to black coloring with a thin ring of film on the surface. Filmy and clingy throughout. Nose of Starbucks....holy shit! My nose is buried in coffee grounds. Flavors of bitter and roasted coffee grounds. Bitter, roasty, and holy shit! I know I keep saying that, but wow! This is a Folger's bomb in your mouth. Very bitter aftertaste. Very dry, roasty finish. Coffee lovers rejoice, this is your beer! Very tasty!

Got this on draft at Novare Res. It pours black with a large tan head. It was served in a large beer mug befitting the beer type.

The aroma is coffee upfront. Smooth, sweet with a chocolate malty nose.
The taste is like the nose coffee, silky smooth with a big mouth feel. The coffee taste gives was to a slight sweetness but finishes with a slight bitter bit it is not overwhelming.

I'm not much of a coffee person but this beer did it for me. Smooth and a fantastic mouth. The drinkability is a little low due to it being that it is a coffee beer.

16 oz can poured into 8 oz water glass

A: Jet black with a nice thick tightly bubbled head that looks like nitro

S: pure coffee that's all I'm getting

T: huge dark roast coffee tastes with some sweetness s it's almost like drinking a black cup of coffee with sugar. Just pure coffee though

M: Nice feel for such a lower ABV porter very creamy and full

O: If you love FBS but are turned off by it's watery mouthfeel this beer will knock your socks off. It would be nice to taste the underlying beer more but I guess that's where the sweetness is coming from. Alcohol is nicely hidden fantastic mouthfeel for the ABV not much to not like about this beer.

Over at Novare Res.

Pours a dark dark brown almost black color, a huge brown head approaches the rim of the glass and takes its sweet time fading down, leaving a path of lacing destruction.

Smell is hugely coffee coupled with a large roasted malt aroma, hints of chocolate in the nose but it's the coffee that's the show.

The coffee tends to be slightly more muted in the taste but is still quite evident, the dark roasted malt becomes more of a player with a slight chocolate sweetness to balance the overall bitterness, good carbonation levels, not cloying in the least, the strength was well hidden by the coffee but you know it's there lurking.

This happened to be so good that I had planned on only having one but ended up ordering another, hope this becomes one of their frequent releases.

Tap at the Anniversary party.

Pours a light creamy head, dark molasses color, barely a touch of light coming through.

Nose nice fresh coffee, bit of roasted malt, hint chocolate, big porter like dark malts, fresh roasted coffee beans but more of the brewed coffee.

Taste brings chocolate and roast at first, then coffee, fresh brewed coffee, chewy creamy oats, some bitter earthy hops, a bit of bitterness from the roast, finish brings a light sticky syrupy flavor with long lingering coffee and roast, and fairly dry.

Mouth is bigger bodied, little creamy and rich, decent carb, light warming booze.

Overall pretty nice, great coffee presence, nice dark malts without acrid over roast or burnt flavors, big and fairly rich but still pretty drinkable. Very well done coffee porter.

First had: on tap at Three Tides, Belfast, ME

A high-alcohol (9.1%) porter made by brewing their Wrecking Ball Baltic Porter with Green Tree Coffee.

Poured dark brown-black with two finger of well-retaining tan head. Rather predicable aroma of coffee, roasty malts and semi-sweet chocolate, all of which translated into the taste, with a pretty good balance of the three...maybe the coffee bitterness slightly overpowering the others. Full bodied, smooth, and drinkable.

(Why do I only like coffee when it's in beer?)

(A)- Pours almost pitch black with some tan froth and lacing
(S)- Good combo of creamy vanilla and roast meets soft coffee grounds. Hints of raisin
(T)- Huge profile of raisin. . mountains of raisins. ALL raisin
(M)- Mellow carbonation level. Very bitter considering how much raisin is in this
(O)- Was expecting better since it started out so well

Solid black color with a decent sized long lasting tan head. Chocolate and coffee with hints of vanilla and light fruit. Pretty tasty stuff.

A: Pours a near pitch black color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a decent cap that leaves great lacing

S: Roasted malts and coffee stand out the most, with some dark chocolate and hints of vanilla in the back. Possible hints of dark fruit as well. Definitely coffee-forward

T: Follows the nose. Starts right off with roasted malts and coffee, with a light dark chocolate sweetness. Hints of vanilla and dark fruit do come through, though they are dominated by the roast and coffee. Alcohol covered very well by the malt and coffee. Finishes with a light bitterness and more coffee

M: Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Nearing on smooth, but still a very fine carbonation is present

O: A very nice coffee-forward porter. Definitely stays focused on the coffee throughout and highlights it very well. Dangerously easy to drink at 8.3%, this makes an excellent morning beer or replacement for coffee (or an accompaniment). Definitely worth tracking some down if you're into coffee beers
