2014 Bottle

A: Lots of bourbon upfront, followed by moderate deep roast malts, faint oak.

A: Black color, opaque, with a thin tan head that quickly recedes into the glass.

T: Bourbon, followed by chocolate like roasted malts, touch of sweetness, fair amount of oak, with a light roast bitterness through the finish.

M: Full bodied with light carbonation, strong alcoholic warmth.

O: Alright; the beer has just a crazy amount of bourbon. Not much maple or silkiness. After a few years of aging, I figured the bourbon would start to blend. Nope just as pronounced. As the beer warms almost like drinking a chocolate bourbon.

Pitch black with almost no head. Massive bourbon, wow, just tons of barrel. Silky smooth. Not much in the way of maple. I am surprised its only 14.8% because this is crazy boozy. Any more bourbon and it would be too much.

A super rich and decadent stout that delivers the goods.

Pours a black, thick beer. Wonderful boozy smell with some vanilla but the bourbon predominates. I love the taste with this as it is huge bourbon and smooth roasty oaky chocolate taste. Thick mouthfeel. I can see how some may think this is too much bourbon but man I like this beer.

Whoa, what a monster. Appearance is just a pitch black beer. Aroma is a very fragrant coffee, cocoa, vanilla, roast. Flavor's like nose with bittersweet up front, a touch of carbonic tang to help, then the loooong finish with some off notes. Body is a touch too soft. Great beer, but with some tweaks, according to my worthless opinion, could be much better.

Pours a dark black color with a tan head. Aroma of bourbon, alcohol, vanilla, cocoa, soy and chocolates. The flavor has vanilla, warming booze, oak and maple in the finish. Toffee, soy, chocolate, vanilla. Semi dry finish on a chewy full bodied ale. Overall this is a masterpiece, only flaw is a good degree of oxidation given its relatively young age.

Dark pour with decent head. Lacy residue in the glass. Heavy bourbon flavor, with notes of chocolate. 18.85abv in the recent release. Quite impressive.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Deep black body. Pours with some bubbles, but settles out quickly.

Smell - Intense bourbon. Roasty. Chocolate and fudge. Really boozy.

Taste - Man, this is good. Huge bourbon flavor. Fudge. Sweet chocolate. Incredibly boozy. Light cola flavor.

Mouthfeel - Heavy and sweet. Boozy as hell.

Overall - This is so over the top, but it's really flavorful.
