The chillies give it a nice spicey warmth, the pumpkin isn't over powering. Perfect for fall and would be too much any other time of year. Bottle 277 of 672

A - Poured black with a very thin layer of medium brown head that quickly disappeared.

S - The nose is unpleasant at first with seemingly too many adjuncts that aren't coming together nicely. Some oak, an unpleasant smoky/burnt aroma, clove and cinnamon notes.

T - The chilis kick in immediately and somewhat dominate the palate. Lighter notes of pumpkin pie spices come though and that's it. No barrel notes, no pumpkin, no chocolate. The spice from the chilis kill the other components of this beer.

M - Medium to full body. Light carbonation.

Chilli beers are not my thing and I'm beginning to grow tired of the never-ending parade of pumpkin ales that appear every Fall but, I think Hangar achieved what they intended to with this. The chilli pepper presence is HOT. There's lots of cocoa too. The pumpkin flavor is subtle. Calienté!
