Appearance - Pours a very clean copper/Amber color. A touch hazy. Poured into tulip beer glass and got a good 1" head that dissipated over time. No lacing although that speaks more of my glassware.

Smell - Malty, bready...slight sweetness. Definitely malt forward. Pleasant.

Taste - Smooth malty taste with a slight lingering hop bitterness. Not overpowering. Balanced.

Mouthfeel - Light/Medium body with definite carbonation

Overall - This is the beer that got me into craft beer. Before this Newcastle was my beer of choice. I instantly switched after my first taste. That was a few years ago. I've move on from this trying other styles and options from Red Trolly and Firestone DBA on the red ale side to a ton of IPA. Revisited this one for old time sake and I still really like it. Will be sure to have around from time to time. Not the best, but still a really solid beer.

A 12 ounce bottle poured into a shaker pint glass.

Appearance - A rusty copper color. Hazy. Thin white head. Moderate lacing.

Smell - Malty. A touch sweet. A bit herbal. Nice.

Taste - A big malty flavor up front. A little toasty. Herbal. A mild flowery hop finish.

Mouth - A little oily. Fizzy. Substantial.

Overall - This is a really good beer! It reminds me of a nice English bitter (malty, sweet and toasty with just the right amount of hops). I am eager to try more alt-biers and more Hangar 24 beers.

Appearance: A bit of a bubble show produces a frothy ecru head; the amber colored liquid is slightly hazy; nice retention all around, with a reasonable amount of lacing

Smell: Brown bread with a hint of caramel; slightly herbal

Taste: Brown bread forward, with just a touch of caramel underpinning; herbal, metallic flavors develop in the middle; the finish is almost medicinal

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: More like a Neue bier than an Alt bier and that is no compliment

Picked up a single at TW Arrowhead in late June for $1.99. No visible bottling date.

Beer poured reddish-brown with a bubbly off white head that dissipated quickly.

Nose is sweet apple and grainy.

Taste is caramel malt forward, a hint of apple, with a dry grainy finish.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and neither overly refreshing nor smooth.

Overall not a bad beer, it represents the style fairly well.

Trying this one at the SF airport lounge. The beer poured a clear amber with thin white head that is not leaving any lace. The scent is mostly caramel like malt. The taste is malty with presence of alcohol. The Mouthfeel is medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it's ok.

12oz bottle, poured into a pint glass

A- pours a deep amber color with a one finger creamy off-white head that retains long after the pour, laving some lace behind

S- malt dominant aroma with toasted bread, biscuit and cracker, trace of caramel. Herbal/floral hop

T- brown bready malt with some toasted character, grassy/herbal hop, apple, finishes dry and clean with light lingers of chocolate malt

M- medium body with moderate prickly carbonation leads to a foamy mouthfeel and a clean dry finish

O- easy drinking and malt forward, for the most part
