A - Pours an orange-brown color into a snifter glass. The color is thick and opaque. Beautiful frothy head.
S - Smells fruity like most other IPAs. Notes of grapefruit, piney smell. I do actually smell oranges.
T - Tastes good. Bottle says they use columbus and simcoe hops, so there is some bitter aftertaste. Not the smoothest IPA I have had but still above average. Bottle also says that they have added orange blossom honey, but I can't quite taste the sweetness.
M - Heavy beer. Good carbonation, slight frothiness every sip. Good for drinking at a slow pace.
O - Above average IPA. I can recommend this.

Clear orange gold with a frothy off-white head, leaving dots and streaks of lacing.
Citrus, pine and a hint of honey on the nose and palate. A bit more honey comes through as it warms.
Medium carbonation and a little on the light side mouthfeel. Slight bittersweet finish.
Could have used a more dry bitter finish. An almost solid DIPA.

Picked up a bottle of this the other day at the Sonoma Whole Foods. Part of the problem with buying beer here, is that unless the beer is super popular (like bottle of PtE), it's not an usual to see stuff languish on the shelf. Several IPA's had been there on the shelf for several months, from what I could tell, including a 6 month old bottle of knee keep Hoptologist (which I was thinking of getting). There was a fairly good size row of the H24, which lead me to believe it might be pretty fresh. Then again...
So, the beer pours a peachy orange amber color with excellent head retention and very good lacing. The nose is pretty good as well, as I get some light tropical fruit, celery salt, and dry citrus. The overly sweet tropical fruit had me worried there might be a freshness problem, something that I was even more concerned about on the palate. The beer is fairly sweet, malty and boozy, and had the sort of flavor I tend to associate with an IPA/DIPA that has been sitting around a bit too long. Still, the beer had some pretty decent hoppy bitterness in the finish, that helped to counter the sweetness. Mouthfeel was fairly light otherwise, and the alcoholic bit wasn't too over the top.
In the end, I thought this a decent, fairly enjoyable DIPA. Would still like to try a fresher version, as otherwise I'm pretty certain this is a beer I have no need to visit again in the future.

Round 1-Look
Clear golden hue and foamy white head
Round 2-Aroma
Super citrus, pine and dank
Round 3-Flavor
Robust, sweet citrus and hoppy alcoholic burst
Round 4-Feel
Satiating mouthfeel and crisp acid tail
Results
Hangar 24 provided a strong DIPA to keep us warm for the holidays or enjoy year-round. Hangar delivered a traditional DIPA by making the hops the star of the brew rather that a role player.
