Pours a finger and half of head on a black body.
The aroma has some roasted malt and dark chocolate. It's a little on the faint side though.
The taste starts with some chocolate sweetness, then some mild bitterness, moves to roasted malt and bitter chocolate finish. Nice profile and well balanced.
The texture is pretty smooth with low carbonation.

a: its a watery black color with not much light penetrating - 2 finger frothy tan head that marshmellows at the top

s: sweet baking chocolate and roasty toasty malts up front. there is a hint of sweet malt and figs and raisins in here as well. creamy with some oaky notes (might be from the roasted malts), and ends with some nice vanilla extract aromas at the end

t: this follows the nose quite well, however I'm a little surprised to be picking up as much alcohol in the flavor as i am. you're first hit with the roasted malts, which provide some initial bitterness, then its cut by that alcohol. there is definitely a hint of those sweet dark fruits in here as well. the chocolate, though, is not so present - only a hint of like powered chocolate. this ends with toasted malts, and a nice vanilla oaky flavor

m: medium - typical mouthfeel for a porter. quite a bit of carbonation though

o: disappointed that there is not more chocolate in here. its a nice robust beer, that does have some nice flavors - however, i would have like a little more chocolate, and a little less alcohol in the flavor. still enjoyable though
