LOOK: Great, shiny copper tone settles into the glass. Carbonation city feeds a finger-width cream head, really fluffy at first, but it dissipates a smidgen. There’s a thin haziness about the look, but it’s a perfectly fine-looking brew.
SMELL: The scent isn’t very strong, but it’s certainly welcoming. Nice, bready malts compliment a stronger, citrusy scent. Undertones of grass round it off. Not bad, but really really mild.
TASTE/MOUTHFEEL: Wow… the first word that comes to my mind is bitter. Usually the hops attack me at the finish when it comes to IPAs, but this one starts off bitter and lingers the whole way through. Medium body tingles from the aforementioned carbonation. Letting the ale linger for a bit boasts a combination of grassy, floral tones with hardly any malt character to speak of. A nice kick of grapefruit kisses the tip of my tongue. Mellows out a good deal as it warms, thankfully. Pretty aggressive, but I can still taste the bitterness long after I take a sip, which is a bit much.
OVERALL/NOTES: This is my first go with Hangar 24, and the first word that comes to mind is ‘decent.’ Maybe I jumped the gun on opening it, because it became much more enjoyable after about fifteen minutes of sitting there. Will revisit this brewery in the future.

Usual mixture of copper, yellow and orange in an ipa, 1/2" white head. Aroma pulled some grapefruit out of the Columbus, this is an underrated aroma hop.
Taste dropped some bitter grapefruit, caramel not overdone. Its a pretty good showcase for the Columbus hop. low 2nd tier type of ipa stuff, not a repeat purchase, tired bomber format, no thanks.
