On tap at The Public House in La Jolla. This must be the 2015 version, brewed with maple syrup and 13.5%. The aroma is sensational, a nose-filling whiskey blast. So dark and hot with boozy caramel. As powerful a beer as I can remember tasting.

Totally boozy and intense, but so deliciously flavored. I don't know if I've had a better RIS! In any case it's my favorite Bourbon-barrel aged brew in a long time. I didn't know Hangar 24 had this kind of stuff in them.

An excellent trading partner from California told me this was a rare and special stout. I agree.
Smells of vanilla, wood tobacco and sweet fruit prunes maybe?
A very dark brown, with a trace of red, bit of golden head does not last long.
No clue from the taste that this is more than 13-14% abv, malty goodness, bit sweet but not too much
Smooth, not as thick as I'd expected when I opened it.
A really good stout Thanks

Dated December 2015. 13.5% ABV. Consumed 2/5/16

Very dark brown color and an aggressive pour yielded a very small off white tan head. No lacing along the glass edges. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, malts, and coffee. Smooth bourbon, dark fruits, bittersweet chocolate, oak, and vanilla make up the flavors. Medium to full feel with the alcohol burn present on the back of the throat. Overall, a finely crafted bourbon barreled stout that should be sipped and savored! Enjoy.

2013 bottling, aged for 2+ years and opened today because snowed in, so why not? Poured into Guinness Stout Glass at about 50 degrees (first pour).

L: Very dark, with one finger tan head that expectedly gets knocked down quickly by the ABV. Only leaves a thin ring.

S: Coffee, unsweetened chocolate, vanilla, maple, dark fruits. A bit of alcohol, but not overmuch. Really nice.

T: OH YEAH. Taste follows nose, and all subtle but interplay nicely. Coffee and the other flavors up front, some alcohol heat, but not too much, and the barrel wood lingers. Aging it totally worth the wait.

F: Full bodied, moderate carbonation, alcohol heat controlled very well. Very good balance.

O: I am a happy man. Wish I'd thought to buy more than one and wish I'd bought ensuing years rather than treat this as a one-off in 2013.
