Canned on 2/9 and today's 3/5. Pours a slightly hazy orange-amber, thin head rapidly fades. Aroma is fruit -filled, clean and inviting. Taste is the mainline SH with a heavy overlay of luscious, fruity hops, hops and more hops. Mouthfeel is very good; has clean finish with no off-notes. All together, a splendid base beer taken to a higher level while maintaining the qualities that made it what it is. That's hard to do, but the crew at Block 15 has pulled it off.

Bought at Market of Choice. Ashland, Oregon for $12.99. 4 pack of 16.9 oz. cans. Bottled 3/19/18 consumed 3/23/18. So in other words FRESH!
A - pours with 2 fingers of beautiful pillowy white foam head with decent retention. Fading after about 10 minutes to 1/4 inch islands of foam. Golden straw color. Really beautiful beer to look at, especially after its first been poured.
S - resin, pine, some guava and mango on the more subdued side. Expected a more tropical nose, but it's nice none the less.
T - oily pine and tropical fruits work in harmony all the way through the front and mid palate, finishing with a refreshing and clean bitterness that's just enough to offset the mango, pineapple, and papaya on the palate. Really harmonious and beautiful.
F - this is where Sticky Hands, and all variations of it shine. It has all the flavor of a really high IBU hop bomb without the astringent and overly bitter mouthfeel. Those fresh hop oils really take the drinkability of this beer through the roof. You have to get these beers fresh. Block 15 is working really hard to make sure that there beers are fresh on the shelves and on tap. So check the dates before buying. These beers are like fresh produce. They need to be stored cold and enjoyed as fresh as possilbe
O - Super offering from Block 15 as always. This one is tough to find, but if you can I highly recommend picking this one up. And sharing with friends if you're cool.

Block 15 kills it again. This almost clear, light orange, white foamy monster with lacing from top to bottom just explodes with citrus, melon, and pine in aroma and flavor. It's smooth, sweet, juicy, and bitter, and overall exceptionally easy to drink and exceptionally delicious. Once again hiding it's elevated abv, it's dangerously easy to drink. If you see this, don't hesitate. Pick it up. Cheers.

Can from ABV.
A clear copper with a dense, white head with good retention and lacing, this looks solid. The nose is excellent. Bright, bitter, pungent and rather tropical, there's mango, peach, papaya and some candied orange. Malt character is minimal. The palate opens juicy and pungent with a blend of sweet pine bitterness and tons of fruit - peach, mango, passionfruit and plenty of papaya. Really fragrant nectarine juice and peach notes are present, with a mild sweetness . The alcohol is mild but noticeable, amplifying the hop characteristics. Drying, moderately bitter on the finish, this beer is medium-light in body and moderately carbonated. Quite excellent.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a two finger white head with good retention and thick lacing. Aroma of lightly caramel and dank malt, orange, passion fruit, mango and grapefruit. Flavor is mildly caramel malt, pineapple, passion fruit, kiwi, citron, orange and a little earthy summer herb dankness developing. Finishes with fruit esters and resinous, yet tropical hop bitterness with nice piney notes. Medium bodied with light creaminess and good carbonation. After pouring, I was not ready for the tropical fruit notes; this does not look like a turbid NE style fruit bomb, more of a classic traditional IPA. The flavor, however is back into intense tropical fruit, but with more citrus hops character and a touch of pine. The fruit is really complex with both tropical and domestic fruit and clear fruit esters. Hops jump around between tropical NE style and piney West coast style, but this finishes more West Coast with pine and citrus, but with tropical fruit juice. Really enjoyable, this is a tropical fruit IPA that keeps my interest. Flavorful from start to lingering finish. Nice. Fresh can, so not retired, request to have this changed to "rotating".

Pint sized can served cold into an imperial pint glass. Canned 2/15/2016.
Tropical Slam is a a hazy yellow-copper color with thin white head. Retention isn't great and the lace is minimal.
Aroma is super hoppy and fresh with great citrus, floral, and, of course, tropical notes.
Flavor is slightly sweet up front with a candied orange peel and lemon zest. The hop bitterness is strong with this one but it doesn't seem overly so. Finishes somewhat dry.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied and nicely carbonated. Balance is pretty good for the style but still quite bitter.
Overall an excellent DIPA with great citrusy tropical flavors. It's maybe even better than the standard in my opinion and well worth seeking out.

Can courtesy of Rick. Nice piney hops, slick, slippery, mildly astringent. Excellent IPA, and a nice break from the parade of sours at the bottle share.
