Thanks, Sam. John below mentions this beer is possibly a sour beer lovers wet dream. I'm happy to say it comes close. Pouring a clear red with purple highlights, this looks solid. The nose is excellent. Brilliant funk (barnyard, horseblanket), nice acid (lactic with a little lemon and a touch of acetic) that beautifully integrates the currants, allowing their unique aroma to come through. The palate is a well-integrated blend of fruit, funk and acid. Moderately lactic with a brightening lemony sourness before the fruit comes through, deep, layered and structured with the fleshy, catty fruit tempered by the skin tannins. Drying, tart, mildly tannic on the finish, this beer is excellent.

Beautiful appearance, hazy but bright, rosy red, effervescent, with a small white head that displayed good retention and dabs of lacing. Lacto and fruit in the aroma, hints of barnyard funk that came out more as the beer warmed. Great berry profile in the taste, cobwebs and funk, lemony lacto, wet oak. Very lambic-like, really. Assertively but not aggressively sour, along the lines of De Garde and Cantillon. Crisp, tart mouthfeel, with a hint of astringency that didn't really detract from anything. Very nice!

This beer struck me as a wild ale lovers wet dream. The beer pours a beautiful rose red color, with good head retention and lacing. On both the nose and the palate, there was a considerable amount of fruit and sour funk, along with some light vinegar. The barnyard funk qualities are turned up pretty high in this beer.

Definitely not my cup of tea, but if you're a fan of Belgian lambics and gueuze, chances are you're going to like this just fine.

375 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Nice pink reddish body. Small white head. Medium collar.

Smell - Bright berry. Stone fruit. A little lemon. Some oak and yeast.

Taste - Quite a bit of currant. Stone fruit sourness. Lots of oak and it's pretty astringent. Really sour.

Mouthfeel - Medium light body. Medium high carbonation.

Overall - Intense, but very tasty.

Pour is a lighter ruby read with a light pink head. Nose has lots of sawdusty oak and vanilla with a berry fruitiness. Taste has the nice oakiness, notes of vanilla, bitter berries and a bit of acidity. Body is a medium, strong carb, very dry finish.
