Mysteriously brewed by ghostly bones under the pale gaze of a full moon, this spectral ale was left for our brewers to wonder over the following morn. Its ancient brewmaster tells a hoppy tale of tropical fruit and citrus, complemented by the subtle essence of floral, herbal, and pine notes.

16iz can from Tavour. Hazy orange golden pour, thick, fluffy white head. Aroma is dank, musty, citrus peel. Taste also offers a brief glimpse of dankness, juicy, oranges, pithy bitterness.

Palate Contaminants: other beer

Yellow-orange color, and moderately opaque. Lots of fine white head that leaves good lacing.

There's a bit of syrup on the nose, but at least it doesn't come across as artificial. Muted citrus, being neither acidic nor sweet. Some lemongrass. The intensity just isn't there.

The taste is fascinating, though. It's like a orange-banana smoothie, but it's lactic where it should be sweet. That also goes along with the very low bitterness. I also catch a little sweet corn. Cut grass and moss are in the background. And I have to say that it's extremely rich.

The richness drives the grade for Feel. Aftertaste has more of the vegetation. Very well integrated carbonation, and the savoriness holds down the sweetness and bitterness. Alcohol presence is light.

Look: Fully opaque orange in color with a dense white head that billows up and slowly settles, leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Sweet orange, Cannabis, strawberries, mandarins, pine sap, fir needles, blueberries, grapefruit, passionfruit, and melon
Taste: Mandarin, strawberry, grapefruit, pine, and weed terpenes culminate to bring the first punch on the palate with melon, berries, and resinous conifer notes following. Nice malt notes create a sort of canvas on which this hop show shines. An herbaceous and citrus led hop bite finishes it out
Mouthfeel: Smooth – even a little silky, full but not into the ‘chewy’ zone, medium-high carbonation, and a light but minimal dryness on the finish
Overall: This stuff is fantastic. I haven’t had it since these folks first made it several years ago and was pumped to see it again. The hop bill is right up my alley – citrus, berries, dank, tropical fruit, and conifers – plus the flaked wheat and oats give this a soft mouthfeel but it still has enough bite and dryness to not fatigue my palate. Delicious and reminds me a lot of a sort of NE-leaning, more tropical fruit forward version of Sticky Hands, which is one of my favorite Block 15 beers. Tasty and highly recommended

16oz can poured into 11oz tulip. Poured a very cloudy yellow, with 1/2 inch of white head that had low retention and lacing.

The aroma featured the expected frooty hops, with a low grain profile.

Same on the tongue, no noticeable malts, all frooty hops.

The body was the typical light of the murk style, smooth, and had a medium finish.

Drinkability was fine, I drank it with no issues, but wasn't left wanting another.

Overall, yet another average murkbomb. If you like the style, you'll lke this beer.

Haunting ethereal pale yellow with almost a greenish tinge as it pours. Probably an artifact of my mind brain. Fairly opaque, but not thick. Dusting of white head sits into an archipelago and ectoplasmic traces on the glass.

Nose is sharp citrus up front, with a bit of pine. I don't get as much of the tropics described on the can.

Flavour again leans more into the citrus, but with a sweet sharp tropical note. Has that weird high greenness that I always get in the hazy/DDH type thangs. Finish is sharp citrus and pine (but more citrus).

Medium at best body, but the oats and flaked wheat do their job to give a smoothe slip to it. Bright carbonation that fits.

This is really well done and enjoyable, even to this non-DDH/hazy fan. Block 15 does great work with hops, and this is no exception.

Canned 10/3 and enjoyed on the 27th. A hazy pour, light golden color with a thick, creamy head. Nose is floral with hints of pine accompanied by a dank malty note. Taste is incredible, almost malt-forward, smooth with the addition of the oats. The extra hit of hops at the end is a great finish, not harsh but adding that extra taste. Mouthfeel is suberb, good carbonation and great finish. A stiff ABV of 8.75% lurks below the surface, so be forewarned. This is an excellent Imperial Pale Ale.

Very hazy gold with two fingers of cream color head. Swathes and rings of lace form as the head drops.
Smell is green dank hops with bread crust malts.
Taste is dank green fruity hops with a good malt support.
Mouthfeel is medium with proper carbonation. The finish is mildly dry and fairly balanced.
Overall a tasty and big DIPA. Well done Block 15!

On tap at The Growler Guys last night.

A straw yellow with a dense, white head with decent retention and lacing, this looks good. The nose is quite excellent. Bright with plenty of pine and an intriguing and unexpected dank, skunky, weed note, this is great. There's also a touch of citrus present. The palate is mildly sweet with pine, orange and again, that dank weed note that's excellent. Notes of honey and peach are present. Light in body with soft carbonation, this finishes mildly bitter. Excellent

L - Has all the appearances of a flaked oat/hazy pale ale.
S - Not much other than some mild citrus and pith fruit on the nose.
T - Taste was solid, even if it felt unexpectedly thin for such a big beer. Tasty, just now "Um wow"
F - Good, but the oats are strange in this, gives it an almost too-smooth palate impression. Needs some carbonation to keep it lively and interesting. Became a little flat towards the end.
O - an interesting beer but one that I would not seek out especially.

Canned 10/16/18, Reviewed 11/4/18

The beer is an opaque pale golden orangish color with a fluffy white head that settles slowly and leaves tons of lacing.

Smell and taste both feature dank weed, tangy citrus and tropical fruit. The nose is pretty subtle but the taste is explosive! In the flavor, im also getting a little grapefruit pith and pine towards the finish, as well as a little crusty bread.

Feel is medium bodied and fluffy. Finish is semi-dry with just a bit of bitterness.

Overall, this is an intensely flavorful, juicy DIPA ( I know, they call it a pale ale, but it’s 8.75 abv for crying out loud), and I wish I had more than one of these.
