Deep, dark brown with a creamy, cocoa colored head. Streak lacing. Aroma is bourbon, chocolate oak, and spice. A slight smokiness. Flavor is similar, with hints of vanilla and molasses. Dry finish, very smooth. So delicious. I definitely recommend this beer.

500ml bottle served in a large snifter. 2017 bottle.

Pours black with a smallish brown head, not a lot of active carbonation. Smell is bourbon, wood, coffee, chocolate.

Taste is very nice -- perfect sweetness, not overpowering, very smooth, lots of vanilla to balance chocolate. Bourbon is clear. This is a surprisingly well balanced bourbon barrel stout.

Mouthfeel is smooth, moderately thick, a bit still. Overall, very good beer.

2015 vintage

A- pours super black with dark brown 1 finger head
N- chocolate, vanilla, bourbon
T- I get a lot of chocolate upfront, with vanilla, bourbon, and caramel finish
M- silky smooth feel, but not to sticky like some heavy stouts. Not that there's anything wrong with that
O- great beer. I opened it about 9 months old. I hope I can get a few next year to see how it ages past 1 year.

A top notch imperial stout: well balanced in spite of the alcohol, dry and fragrant. Pours with a short dark head and leaves lace up the glass. Tastes of roasted malt, dark chocolate and a little bourbon. Opens up as you drink it. Can't believe how easy drinking given the ABU.

500ml bottle poured into a snifter, 2014 vintage

A- pours a pitch black color with a barely traceable foamy khaki colored head that quickly disappears, leaving nothing behind

S- plenty of barrel aroma on the nose with some spicy oak, barrel juice, caramel, vanilla, slightly smoky malt, cocoa nibs & fig

T- lots of barrel flavor up front follows the nose, with plenty of bourbon, toasted spicy oak, dark cocoa, prune, charred smoky malt, slightly tangy finish

M- medium body with virtually no carbonation leads to a flat mouthfeel that continues to the finish

O- this one has potential, but I'm wondering if something went wrong with this batch. It's tasty, but almost completely flat
