Inspired by one of the finest Trappist beers we sampled in our travels through Belgium, this blonde ale was brewed with imported Belgian malts, Oregon-grown hops, and Trappist yeast. Crisp, complex, and refreshing, the result is a classically Belgian balance of fruity esters, rustic grist character, and a zesty hop finish.

On tap at the recent Hop and Vine event.

The beer pours a peachy gold color with good head retention and lacing. The nose is exotic and impressive in this one, as I pick up considerable ranier cherry, orange honey, apricot, mango and light vanilla. The flavor profile generally replicates the nose, but isn't quite as intense or impressive. However, there's some nice bitterness on the finish, that tends to bouy the tropical fruit in this beer very nicely. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, the finish is dry, crisp and refreshing (although I still pick up considerable tropical fruit on the finish as well). Alcohol is well integrated into the flavor profile, and drinkability is pretty good.

An interesting take on the style. I liked it.

16oz can from Block 15. Deep golden color, one finger dense white head. Yeasty aroma, buttery, caramel. Taste is dry, Belgian yeast, bready, malty, grassy. Spot on.

Had on tap. Dark golden body with a white head and beautiful lacing. Belgian yeast, bubble gum, citrus, flowers, and blond malt. Yeasty taste with decent citrus hops, with subtle malts and grains. Feel is bright, light, yeasty, and smooth, very drinkable but dry for style. Solid rendition of the style

Handsome golden orange color with abundant foam in the Timmermans goblet. Pungent aroma of yeast and phenols with clove in the nose. Tastes of banana and strong clove with a dark herbal note. Finishes lemony and hugely yeasty-tasting with some astringency.

Quite sudsy in the mouth, and the foam is long lasting. Overall, this is pretty strong-flavored for a Belgian Blonde. It's like an Imperial Witbier, and I don't mean that in a nice way. From the 16 oz can purchased at Elizabeth Station. Packaged 06/30/21.

A beautiful copper tinted yellowy orange body with a touch of chilled haze. The off white memory foam pillow on top slowly descends, leaving a more coarse surface coverage and a respectable amount of spotty lacing. It looks proper, inviting, and refreshing. (4.5)

Everything you'd want from a Belgian Blonde escapes from the glasses surface: pepper, dusty grain, dried grass, a pinch of clove, and a drop of honey. Once again, this is hitting all the marks promising for a thirst quenching experience. (4.0)

Wildflower honey takes first notice but is quickly replaced by rustic flavors of toasty dried bread crusts, hay, dirt, and bitter citrus peels. With each sip, lemon and orange seem to develop more and more. The finish is peppery, spicy, yeasty. (4.0)

Perhaps a tad more bitter than expected, but that is fine by me. I think a little more sweetness might be more aligned with the style, but as is, this is a refreshing beer. Just enough sweetness to carry into an extremely dry and nicely bittered finish. (4.25)

I'd say this is a good Belgian Blonde. Great actually, but it does kind of cross into the Saison spectrum a bit. Ultimately, it's a refreshing beer hailing from a less often explored style, so hard to knock it much. (4.25)

Bottled May '18. Golden pour, thick head, slightly hazy from the bottle-conditioned yeasts. Definite Belgian aroma, complicated yeast/bread and some fruitiness. Tastes right for the style, a first brief bite of flavor, the tapers quickly to a sparkling, almost champagne effervescence, on the tongue. Long finish.

500mL bottle purchased at either Nectar or Community Pint in Spokane. According to the label, it was bottled in May, 2018.

Poured an amber color that was just a tad darker than gold. Big, creamy off-white head that took it's time dropping. Lots of lace.

Hetbal, grassy and spicy in the nose. Very saison-like.

Tastes like a saison as well, albeit a more restrained and drier than usual example.

Medium bodied, with a light, slightly effervescent mouthfeel.

Not a huge flavor bomb, but still a very well done light Belgian ale. I could have several of these.

Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a medium golden amber with a big, three finger white head with good retention and thick lacing. Aroma of bready malt, clove, lemon, slight light stone fruit, a little mineral. Flavor is bready and grainy malt, saison yeast, lemon, grapefruit, clove, banana; finishes with grain, lemon rind and a little funk. Medium bodied with light creaminess and sharp carbonation. This has a lot of character in common with a saison style. The yeast is lightly funky, and the malt is rustic. There is more lemon citrus than that style, which is more in line with a pale ale. Kind of a hybrid between Belgisn pale ale and farmhouse. The funk is quite light. I really like this combination of flavors and enjoyed this quite a bit. I will get this again if and when it drifts into our market again.
