A little grassy / bitter for what I like to see in a session IPA - malt is a little sticky / heavy as well but nothing offensive, but not something to see out

A: [4.00] Transparent golden apricot colored beer. The beer has a full finger of dense white head. Good retention and some lacing. The bottle lists the ABV (4.5%) there is also a date code - but it is meaningless to me.
S: [3.50] Melon, grapefruit rind and some biscuit.
T: [4.00] Lemongrass, tangerine and then crackers and some mild caramel.
M: [3.50] Decent body for 4.5%. A little on the thin side but holds up pretty well. There is a mild bitter finish (much less than typical session IPAs)
O: [3.75] This tastes like an English IPA to me (or an faded America IPA). The hops and the malts are well balanced for a session IPA - I feel like some session IPAs are one dimensional (bitter) and this is much more balanced with a crackery malt backbone. I would drink this again.

- spiegelau ipa glass. listed as ipa session @ 4.3%.
A: Bright orange color with a small haze tint, mashed potato white head, solid 1 finger head that was moderately retaining. Steady pace of macro-effervesace. Full sheet coating.
S: Light hint of sour-lemon citrus, with wet pine. Very light in strength with a hint of sour wit like orange on the finish. Doesn't hold to well.
T: Flavor was spritzy orange-pine, rather bland, bitter, and not very flavorful or tasty. Decent malt levels considering abv%, Some bittering orange peel.
M: Decent carbonation and like above, generally good body for a 4.3%. I'll give you points there. Fairly crisp.
O: Bittering, but lacks depth, sharpness and hop complexity. Rather bland, and unexciting. I tend to like most, if not all styles, and there are a few pretty good session ipas, but this is not one of them. Lacks imagination and just a place card holder. Easy C beer.
