My first trip to Portland would not have been complete without a trip to Deschutes. I didn't have time to drive to bend, however, the brewpub in Portland was a great experience.

The Brewery and Public House was a very large place, a large bar area and a very large restaurant area. There was also a small sidewalk area for outside seating. The decor was very ornate with lots of wood, very fitting for the North West. We arrived early and beat the crowd and landed a nice window table. The atmosphere was excellent.

Selection was very good with approximately 20-25 Deschutes on tap including the year rounds, a nice mix of seaonals, a few one offs and a few pub exclusives. Including a cask and nitro tap selections.

Service was excellent, our server, Nicole, was friendly efficient and was very knowledgeable on the beer. You have to love a girl whose favorite beer styles are porters and stouts.

Food selection was very good the clam and sausage appetizer is excellent. Nice selection of sandwiches and entrees.

Over all we had a great experience and I highly recommend you stop in if your in Portland, get there early.

Cavernous, bustling brewpub in the Pearl District (Portland, OR) filled with Northwest decor. Wide selection of core and one-off brews on draft served as 0.3 and 0.5 liters in 6X 4 oz sample trays, as well as ages bottles. All of Deachutes classics and some tasty variations including cask and nitro.

This was easily one of my best brewery/taphouse restaurant experiences. Great selection of beers, huge restaurant area with incredible food. Two Abyss varients available for to go purchase. Awesome environment!

Monstrous place in the heart of downtown. I went there since my wife is a big Deschutes fan and it was packed on a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere was fine but the staff was not very attentive. It took us several times to get out beers and when we decided to eat at the Pub it took a long time to order our food, get our food or be able to get to any waiter. Having said that, the people were friendly when they dealt with us. The food was pretty good but a little overpriced as far as I am concerned.
The beer selection was very cool. You had your classics, your seasonals, your special one and the wonderful Pub Series (you must try one of those!)
Overall, a good experience.

Went here on my our last evening in Portland, and my wife and I had a great time. The beer was great and loved the food. Service was great, but noticed food service was much faster than drink service. Had an Armory XPA from cask along with the Stoic from the tap. Set outside and enjoyed the great weather (much better than my part of Texas in July!) and people watching. Portland is great for people watching. Had a great time!

This place is big and loud and kinda jarring at first since I tend to prefer more intimate comfy and cozy places. So busy we had to wait for 30 minutes or so to get in and get a table. Well that wait turned out to be well worth it, and my hesitations about the grand scale of the place soon melted away. This place was packed for a reason. Delicious beer and delicious food, friendly and interesting staff, and a cool space to hang out. If I ever visit Portland again, I'm going here again 100%.
