Deschutes Brewery and Public House is the proper way to run an establishment tied into a brewery. Located in the Pearl district with plenty of other things to do, this is a great place to stop. The atmosphere is fairly open and modern looking. You can see the brew tanks and into the kitchen. We got a seat at a high bar table and sampled a few of their beers.

They have a pretty good selection here including a few you could not find too many other places in town. I ended up with an ESB, Hop Henge and a Black IPA. All were very fresh and clean tasting.

I was not there for food but what I saw looked decent. This is definitely a good stop for fans of the brewery.

This was easily one of my best brewery/taphouse restaurant experiences. Great selection of beers, huge restaurant area with incredible food. Two Abyss varients available for to go purchase. Awesome environment!

Monstrous place in the heart of downtown. I went there since my wife is a big Deschutes fan and it was packed on a Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere was fine but the staff was not very attentive. It took us several times to get out beers and when we decided to eat at the Pub it took a long time to order our food, get our food or be able to get to any waiter. Having said that, the people were friendly when they dealt with us. The food was pretty good but a little overpriced as far as I am concerned.
The beer selection was very cool. You had your classics, your seasonals, your special one and the wonderful Pub Series (you must try one of those!)
Overall, a good experience.

Went here on my our last evening in Portland, and my wife and I had a great time. The beer was great and loved the food. Service was great, but noticed food service was much faster than drink service. Had an Armory XPA from cask along with the Stoic from the tap. Set outside and enjoyed the great weather (much better than my part of Texas in July!) and people watching. Portland is great for people watching. Had a great time!

This place is big and loud and kinda jarring at first since I tend to prefer more intimate comfy and cozy places. So busy we had to wait for 30 minutes or so to get in and get a table. Well that wait turned out to be well worth it, and my hesitations about the grand scale of the place soon melted away. This place was packed for a reason. Delicious beer and delicious food, friendly and interesting staff, and a cool space to hang out. If I ever visit Portland again, I'm going here again 100%.

so cool to make it into this place, i know its not the original or the large brewery, but its a cool space, one of my favorite breweries for the last bunch of years, and a full list of amazing beers. too busy for a seat, so we just stood in the bar area and sucked them back. a huge space, almost like an old warehouse or something, but it has tons of character, medals adorn the walls, some amazing northwestern themed wood carvings hang in the middle of the space and divide the bar from the restaurant areas, and the brew house is visible through windows behind the bar. its absolutely packed, but their draft list is enormous. twenty or more beers pouring. i was absolutely blown away by the pinot suave, while their range of ipas was also quite impressive. service was irrelevant because it was so busy, but it wasnt bad at all. i spent most of the whole time feeling like i was in the way because of how busy it was, but the beers made the experience well worth it. that pinot sauve, served in a teku, as just a joyous drink. i still am really keen to check out the original deschutes spot, but this is a destination in its own right, very cool they have this place in portland to visit. absolutely worth it to poke in for a few beers when in the area!
