on tap at the bruery. aroma could be more redolent of hops, but some earthy notes and stone fruit. the aromas open up across the palate with a little mango shining through. crisp in texture as a lager should be, this brew finishes with a pleasing balance between biscuity malts and hops.

Retrieved, revamped and rewired, the Terreux acclaim now lands the coveted mosaic hops at the precipice of oak, tart and pepper- all natural from fermented spontanae and a barrel flare for extra measure.

Humulus Mosaic pours a hazy golden hue that's surprisingly bright and glowing. Its creamy swath of foam carries a supple bready sweet tone with pepper, oak, citrus, tropical and herbal fragrances. Its taste is soft with wheat and supple sweetness- sparsely doughy with hints of powdered sugar.

Sweetness is a quick afterthought as the ale hits its stride on the middle palate. The Mosaic hops explode with the tangy and tropical flavors of passionfruit, gooseberry, dragonfruit, green berries, under-ripened grape and lemon. Its tangy flavors blend well with the beer's dry and crisp malt backbone and the oaken charm that offers its own pepper, nutty, woody flare.

Floral, bright and creamy, the beer's peppery taste unfortunately exposes the right combination to allow a soapy flavor and unsettled creamy lightness to exhume. The beer has a ton of promise but its culmination in taste is a distraction that makes the Mosaic hops a sacrificial lamb. Still, the ale is good but a far cry from the earthen, tropical, herbal, citrus and sour taste that the namesake suggests.
