750 ml wax capped bottle, 2014 vintage, bottled 03/24/14. Served in a Bruery Reserve Society glass, the beer pours a murky dark brown color with not quite an inch tan head that stayed around a little while. There's a small amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like dark fruit, caramel, vanilla, brown sugar and some rye whiskey. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but with the addition of some oak, molasses and dark bready flavors. Mouthfeel/body is full, it's slick and a bit syrupy with a low/moderate amount of carbonation. Thought this was tasty, it certainly aged well although I'm sure it would have had more of a kick when fresher. Not sure how much longer I'd want to let this one sit though. Definitely worth a try if you get the chance!

Absolutely delicious even after aging. Very smooth, and deceptively drinkable. The Anniversary beers from The Bruery are truly outstanding, and the Rye Whiskey aging on this variant was no different.

750ml sliver waxed bottle poured into tulip 23/6/16 cheers billverstein for sending the bottle

A pours a thick syrupy dark copper, looks flat when it first hit the glass but manages to foam up a solid thumbs width of light brown head, falls rather quickly and leaves some polka dot lace, legs try to form

S piles of brown sugar and soft caramel, vanilla and coconut, rye barrel plays a big part but there's more whiskey then wood, some sugar coated raisins, and I get some booze but I'd never guess its anywhere near 16.3%, smells sweet but sexy

T now the wood comes out along with the whiskey, the booze comes out a little more as well, spicy rye is hard to miss and I'm surprised how much of it there actually is, not as much brown sugar and caramel but that still leaves plenty, drinks like a rye liqueur and is as tasty as its intense

M 4 syrupy with just enough carbonation to give it some life, smashes the chest more then the throat but has some heat, my lips are completely stuck together and caramel, wood and rye linger

O its a massive slow sipper and I'm surprised just how much rye this picked up in the barrel, 2 years old and still drinking very young but smells and tastes awesome

This one could really go the distance in the cellar, drinking well today but little reminders of how big this beer really is pops up often while drinking it. I'm glad my wife liked it because its a little much to tackle solo on a Thursday night.

A: Poured into a snifter to a deep brown, nearly black beer topped by a half finger of dense light tan head that fades to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of toffee, dark fruits, vanilla, and caramel
T: Taste is toffee, vanilla, a little spice, caramel, dark fruits, a little oak and some toasted bread. Swallow is rye whiskey, molasses, caramel, vanilla and some lingering dark fruits.
M: Big and full on the palate with soft carbonation and a drying finish from the alcohol.
O: This is big sweet and boozy. The flavors are great and the complexity is definitely there. This is another great variant to Sucre. Not too hot either so it drinks pretty well for the ABV.

L: murky brown. General old ale look

S: dried fruit a heat from booze. Slight vanilla smell

T: toffee and vanilla with the whiskey infused.

F: smooth for 16%. A easy drinker.

O: great beer. Had Bois rye last night. Figured I would compare. I think I like this more.
