Bottle poured into snifter from Black Tuesday Anniversary box.

Dark brown with thin fizzy light brown head. Minimal head retention.

Nose: Major raisin/dark fruit presence characteristic of Black Tuesday with a nice vanilla component. Pistachios doesn’t come through much on the nose, mostly raisin + bourbon + vanilla.

Taste: Raisin, vanilla, bourbon up front. Pistachio is more present here than the nose. Tons of depth. Finish is slightly boozy. Phenomenal.

Feel: Body seems a touch fuller than standard BT,

I have just had the rare privilege of tasting four Black Tuesday variants from the bottle at a special Bruery event at Brewski in Brisbane. All were absolutely exceptional. This was the most subtle (not a word I would have chosen if it were not alongside the other three). A great beer and an incredible experience!

On tap at the 2014 Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest held at the Paso Robles Event Center in Paso Robles, CA.

Pours an almost opaque super dark brown with a foamy khaki head that fades to nothing. No lacing on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, chocolate syrup, vanilla, bourbon, and wood aromas. Taste is much the same with chocolate syrup, toffee, vanilla, and bourbon flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness and an alcohol kick on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and sticky mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with nice vanilla aromas and flavors, but I am not really getting any identifiable pistachio qualities.

On tap at the Bruery Copperversary party in Anaheim. One of the best variants I've had. Not too much of either pistachio or vanilla, but just enough to make it special.
