750mL bottle acquired through the Hoarders Society. Bottled 7/30/14. Served in a Bruery snifter.

Pours a pale, hazy orange with two and a half fingers of rocky, white head. The foam slowly fades to a surface haze and modest halo that leaves small clumps of lace.

I catch aromas of Brett, old citrus, grapes and hay. Much like a saison but coming across more clunky than crisp (which may not make sense in reading but that's the impression I get).

Whoa! The initial flavors take me aback with it's onslaught of sourness, astringency and wild yeast. It's not a puckering or tart sour, but more of a spoiled sourness. Grapes (seemingly more peel and seed than juice), citrus rot, strong dry Brett character, bitter herbal earthiness, faint orange/peach pulp, vague bready malts apparent in the background with some soft spicey notes and an obvious alcohol bite that is piled on top as supposed to integrated with the other flavors. It calms down a bit as I get acclimated to the taste but never really comes together for me, remaining disjointed and rather unpleasant.

A dry but fairly heavy feel with moderately crisp carbonation. Finish remains dry with notes of spoiled fruit, funky Brett and mildly sweet bread.

I'll try just about anything once but that's all I'm willing to give to Atomic Kangarue (and half of this bottle was sacrificed to the drain gods). I was hoping that the grapes and Amarillo dry hopping would make this much more fruit forward than it turned out. If this is what Bruery and Smog City intended to release then we'll just need to agree to disagree on what deserves distribution...

Not really sour but pleasantly tart and complex. Bottled 7/2014. cellared at 55F

Grape must, dry hopping, Brett funk. I can think of saisons that are as "sour" as this. Somewhere in between DFH Noble Rot, Boulevard Saison Brett and New Belgium Le Terrior.

Wild ( a little), sour (not much), hoppy, complex. Balanced, but not going to please those wanting a sour taste bud shredder

I would get another
