L - Pours a murky and muddled brown body with a one finger khaki colored head. No real lacing or retention to the head.

S - The nose is heavenly and so well balanced. Whiffs of dark fruits to start that transitions into a caramel, vanilla and brown sugar symphony. The ending has a light oak finish.

T - The taste is more bourbon forward than the smell. Still getting a good helping of dark fruits, caramel, vanilla and brown sugar, along with oak.

F - On the light side of medium bodied and low carbonation. I think with a bit more body and carbonation, the mouthfeel would really compliment the beer. The alcohol heat definitely shows up.

O - Overall, this is a great change of pace that keeps my attention.

L: typical bock color. Brown with red hues.

S: amazing. It has that rich smell you want out of a heavy bock with smooth bourbon infused. This truly is a great smelling beer.

T: great rasin and bourbon flavor. I taste hints of syrup. Amazing combination here. I love the weizenbock and bourbon barrel. I am a true fan.

F: smooth with a full mouth feel that lingers

O: I really enjoyed this beer. This is a rare combination that worked out very well. I wish I had more

I don't really care what they call this -- weizenbock, old ale, barleywine, whatever -- the fact of the matter is that it's fantastic. The nose in particular just sings -- no wafts of alcohol at all, instead just rich harmonies of raisins and dates, cocoa and vanilla, brown sugar and rum/bourbon. Absolutely stellar. Palate is excellent as well, coming off to me like an old ale/barleywine hybrid, the weizenbock characteristics very subtle. Mostly, this is rich, sweet, warming, dark fruit, barrel notes (caramel/vanilla)...it's just a winner. I can be skeptical of The Bruery at times, both from a price and conceptual standpoint. But, hot damn, this one's a winner.

Serving Type: Bottle
Appearance: Cloudy dark-brown in color. Fairly large medium-beige head that dissipated quickly.

Smell: Bourbon , brown sugar, mild banana/fruity notes, and some oak notes.Mild alcohol presence in the nose.

Taste: Bourbon, moderate banana, raisins, some brown sugar, and mild oak tannic notes. The beer is not like the typical Bruery bal-aged beers as this one is not sweet and finishes with the Bourbon notes but in a dry fashion.

Mouth-feel: On the light side of medium-bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation.

Overall: Another good Bruery bal-aged beer. This one is interesting and much less sweet than most of the other bal-aged Bruery beers. Good beer.

750ml bottle poured into a snifter

A- pours a deep brown color with a foamy and creamy thin white head with decent retention

S- smells of boozy bourbon & oak, caramel/toffee, dark banana bread, toasted bread crust and banana flavored runts candy

T- big boozy bourbon barrel up front gives layers of caramel, toffee, coconut & vanilla. Mid-palate brings bready dark brown bread and banana. The finish gives more oak bourbon with a linger of caramel and banana

M- medium body with low carbonation leads to a slightly foamy mouthfeel and finish

O- liquid banana bread, delicious

A: poured into a Bruery snifter to a deep brown topped by a finger of dense tan head that fades to a collar around the edge of the glass
S: Smells of bready malts, caramel, toffee, vanilla and oak with some hints of banana
T: Taste is light banana and bread with some toffee, caramel and vanilla from the barrel with some light oak flavors. Slight spice at times as well. Swallow is a little boozy but there's also some more toffee, banana, and vanilla with some lingering oak and spice.
M: This beer is full in body with soft but adequate carbonation and a drying finish from the ABV
O: This one is really freaking good. The flavors and complexity are really nice and the bourbon barrel influence integrates well with the base beer. This is definitely one to sip and savor. It's a little boozy but it isn't too bad. Definitely one to try if you can get your hands on it.

Good bit of bourbon. The bourbon is nice, it dominates, but it throws off the balance. The Weizenbock base is faint, barely recognizable. The alcohol is semi-present as well.
