Check the forecast, down a cup of coffee, grab your backpack and pack something special to enjoy later on. Might we suggest this bottle? It is Thursday, after all. PB & Thursday – a peanutty variant of Black Tuesday. It won’t stick to the roof of your mouth, but it will impart layers of peanut butter character and bourbon-laced fudge notes to our storied imperial stout.

2018 vintage; consumed on 8/20/2022
Pours a silky, motor-oil hue, jet-black in the glass and topped with a craggy layer of short-lived, khaki-hued foam, dissipating to a vague shred of collar, blank surface, and no lacing whatsoever holding to the walls of the glass.
Aromas highlight a dense underscore of peanut powder coating layers of sweet cocoa as ripe bourbon is interwoven throughout and subtle notes of baked brownie peak.
Taste brings heavy dark chocolate upfront, sporting light dark fruit esters through a deft, bourbon-imbued vanilla as peanut powder courses across the mid-palate; boozy heat exhales for a peanut butter mousse complexion forming on the finish.
Mouthfeel features a body on the lighter end of medium and a subtle, lower-end carbonation; creamy textures are supplemented by an ample, boozy prickle as a level, distant roast extends a subtle gryness grazing the palate among shades of warmth.
A dense, balanced peanut butter expression coddled in well-established boozy integration, noticed though skilled; deft cohesion all-around produces a steady display of roast, spirit, and peanut butter richness.

2016 vintage
A: Poured into a snifter to a black beer topped by a small light tan head which fades quickly without a trace
S: Smells of distinct peanut butter notes meshed with some chocolate, coffee, and hints of bourbon barrel
T: Taste is peanut butter, chocolate, bourbon barrels with some caramel and vanilla, roasted malts, more peanut butter and some slight dark fruit like notes along with a touch of molasses. On the swallow there's more peanut butter, chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, oak, caramel and vanilla
M: This beer has a heavier body than some other BT variants giving it a nice and full feel with a silky body. Carbonation is on the low end but it's adequate for the style while the beer has a drying finish.
O: Overall time has done this one well. It has nice flavors and a good amount of complexity. I recall it being a little hot and unbalanced starting out but it's drinking very well right now.

This one pours a fairly dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like roasty peanuts, booze, chocolate fudge, dark fruit, bourbon, and oak.
There's not a ton of peanut butter actually here in the flavor - I get a bit of dry and roasty nutty character, but it's somewhat subtle. There's a not a ton of barrel, but there is a lot of chocolate and some oak, too. There's a touch of fruitiness. It's not a step up from regular Black Tuesday.
This is kind of thin, and a little bit boozy. It's a slow sipper for sure.
This is not one of the upper echelon Bruery weekday beers, unfortunately.

This beer. Lemme tell you, I had one bottle of it that was just downright awesome. Like, 4.75/5 level stuff. Now, I've had 3-4 other bottles that were significantly not as good. Why? The peanut impact. A lot of them just came off like I was drinking a bottle of Black Tuesday (that I paid $10 more than Black Tuesday for). Is that problematic? Not from a quality standpoint, Black Tuesday is awesome. But like I said, when you're paying more for a product, to just taste like a cheaper product, well, you don't like that.
Pours black, thin light brown head resolves and chills at the 1/50th inch level. Aroma is all Black Tuesday bourbon and roasted malt to the billionth degree, when its done right you're getting all that peanut dust impression like its harvest time in Georgia.
Taste works the same way, its a gargantuan beer with a hefty dose of bourbon, chocolate and varying degrees of peanut impressions. Shit is sticky AF. Not up to the level Peanut Butter & bals was, but hey, they always said this would be tough to replicate in a bottle. Its 98% Black Tuesday, with a 2% peanut impression, and a 20% chance you can notice there is peanut to it.

2018 release. 19.7% ABV.
Same dark crimson-hued brown pour as the other bottles. Hardly any head, but what comes out is ivory in color and quickly dissipating, leaving the beer with a flat surface.
Definitely a nutty quality quickly emerges on the nose. Once poured into the glass and allowed space and time to breathe, it becomes more complex. The booze and dark fruit are potent but keep a pretty balanced nose overall. Not too much going on, just a simple, pleasant aroma.
Again, the peanut flavor is present but a predominance of dark fruit and bourbon characterizes the flavors. A more prominent peanut butter flavor would have been preferred, but it's not necessary with this beer. However, as it warms and settles, that peanutty flavor really sticks with you, and a surprising complexity of sweet coffee and vanilla emerges as well.
Warming mouthfeel. Not overly boozy, with a low carbonation and dangerously smooth finish.
