A: Poured into a snifter to a deep brown beer which is topped by a dense and slightly rocky two finger light tan head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of limes and vanilla with some caramel and a little oak
T: Taste is light bourbon, some lime, vanilla, caramel, oak, a touch of graham cracker but mostly lime, caramel, and vanilla. On the swallow there's some oak, vanilla, lime, and graham cracker
M: This beer has a body which is on the heavier side of medium with a slightly syrupy feel on the palate. Carbonation is on the low end but it's adequate for the style while the beer has a drying finish due to the ABV,
O: Overall this is a pretty interesting beer. I kind of wonder how this one was fresh since I've been sitting on it for a bit, but I don't know how much of a difference that would make. Decent flavors and it tastes like what they were going for, bit it doesn't taste super awesome.

Had this on harvest/brew day September 2020 in Sheldon's garage. Sorry bro, this beer sucked.
Pours a caramel color. Auburn like stuff, fails to hold a head. Disappointing appearance, but wait, there's more. The aroma was probably the best part of the beer. A slightly weird mix of bourbon and key lime pie, but hey, I was intrigued and ready to start sipping. It had all the hallmarks of the pie, the lime, graham cracker and vanilla. We're cool aroma, I ain't got beef with you, its with your friends.
Taste didn't pan out as nice as the nose. Its a clash of bourbon and lime frankly. Beyond that, the mouth feel was even a bigger struggle. This beer is hot as shit. Its also surprisingly having a higher bitterness in the mouth feel than it has any business doing. The malt body just didn't have the legs to support everything going on here in a disjointed way. Too boozy and it just wasn't enjoyable to drink after the first ounce or two. Rare miss for the Bruery for me (beyond charging my card unauthorized).

Appearance: Slightly cloudy amber-brown color with a small light beige head that dissipated quickly.
Smell: Moderate lime notes, mild brown sugar, mild Bourbon and vanilla notes.
Taste: Moderate Bourbon notes, brown sugar, and faint vanilla. The lime is present just as it is in the nose and surprisingly the bourbon plays a bigger role than the nose suggested. the lactose addition results in a mildly sweet finish. Fairly restrained alcohol presence for the listed ABV.
Mouth-feel: On the heavy side of medium-bodied with a modest amount of carbonation.
Overall: This beer was brewed to mimic a key lime pie and while I can see the key lime inspiration I feel as if a different style other than a Bourbon bal-aged Strong Ale might have worked better. The key lime notes appear to be smothered under the bal-aging.

I am excited to try this dessert beer. The last old ale I tried from the Brurey was awesome. The beer is a key lime pie based. The beer is 45 degrees and served in a tulip glass. The light tan head receded quickly to nothing. The head did not leave any lacing on the glass. The color of the beer is SRM 16 a dark brown with amber hues. The clarity of the beer is slightly hazy.
The aromas in the beer are limes, milk, grahmn crackers, milk, bready, toffee, caramel, toasted malts, bourbon, oak, alcohol, sugar. This beer smells like a boozy key lime pie.
The flavors in the beer are limes, condensed milk, grahmn crackers, bready, caramel, toasted malts, bourbon, oak, cinnamon, earthy, toffee, and alcohol.
The mouthfeel of the beer is warming and thick.
The body of the beer is thick, low carbonation, and full finish.
The beer hides the strong alcohol content well. The ale aged in the bourbon barrel enhances this dessert beer. The beer does shine with the key lime pie flavors. I enjoyed drinking this beer.

Surprisingly good. Don’t let the “key lime pie” in a bottle description turn you off.
Pours a beautiful clear light garnet with a light reddish brown one-finger rocky head. Barrel aging is not over done. All the flavors from the barrel and the key lime pie ingredients are balanced nicely. Medium bodied beer with a relatively smooth feel. The alcohol is well hidden.
A very drinakable beer and one I’m glad I tried.

White and silver striped foil-capped 750mL bottle acquired through The Bruery’s Society. Bottled 6/1/18. Served in a Bruery teku. Enjoyed 11/30/18.
Pours a cloudy, dirty orange brown with a rapidly vanishing head of manilla fizz. No retention whatsoever.
Smells of tart citrus cream, bourbon, caramel and Bruery yeast.
Flavors are sweet and boozey. Bourbon and key limes vie for dominance with layers of graham cracker, sweet cream, a strong familiar fruity yeasty note, milk sugar, wet wood, cereal grain, vague apricot and a considerable nip of alcohol.
Full feel with restrained carbonation. Rich, booze-laden aftertaste of key lime bourbon and frosted grahams.
Another successful dessert beer from The Bruery. Last Slice heaps lime, graham cracker and merengue character on top of a base that I found similar to their wheatwine. It’s not as straight up pie as I might have enjoyed but it hits all the highlights.

Poured from fridge temperature into a teku. Pours a golden brown with quickly receding tan head. The nose is really incredible. Bourbon and caramel immediately smack you in the face. The vanilla and lime are easily detectable, and add really interesting elements to the nose. A touch of spice comes through on the nose as well. The taste is amazing, and incredibly unique. Wow. It takes a minute to settle down with the explosion of flavors. I'm getting bourbon and a lot of graham cracker immediately. Some chocolate and whip cream come through immediately after. What a perfect combination of flavors, some of which I have never tasted in a beer. Mouthfeel is creamy, and the alcohol is not really detectable. Overall, this is an amazing beer from the Bruery.
