750mL (original 2017 vintage) into a tulip. Pours a dark coffee brown with a tan head, good carbonation.
Aroma is a blend of stone fruits, black cherries, chocolate and spice. Dark bready malt, brown sugar, Belgian yeast.
Taste has some of the same fruit-forward qualities as the aroma. Cherry dominant. Some sweet cola or root beer flavors too. A lot going on here. Looking at the description (cheating) I see a long list of spices used—I detect a vaguely “spicy” quality (not spicy-hot, but spice-laden) but I can’t say I can pick out specific flavors, they all blend together. Interesting but maybe also not great, which is still OK.
Mouthfeel is about right—heavy side of medium, lingering finish.
Overall a unique spin on a Belgian strong dark, worth trying.

I am drinking 10 Lords A Leaping today using my newly acquired Olympia Chalice. I served it at 46 degrees. Prying the cap off, this 6-year-old beer emits a lovely hiss of carbonation. The pour created a creamy, foamy, two-fingered, tan head with average retention. The color is brown, nearly black, charting around S.R.M. 34. The beer is opaque. The dissipation left no lacing on the glass. The appearance is average for this style.
The initial aromas are caramel, bready, chocolate, and baking spices. Swirling the glass again, I smell toffee, dark roasted cereal grains, floral esters, oranges, ginger, dried apples, and earthiness. The aromas are inviting and warm on the nose. Light phenols and yeast are perceived on the back end. Delightful aromas, no off-flavors detected.
I taste caramel, apples, cinnamon, oranges, toasted wheat, dark roasted malts, honeysuckle esters, ginger, cloves, bready, bananas, dried cherries, yeast, earthiness, toffee, and light chocolate. This is a change from what I have consumed lately; I am enjoying it. No off-flavors tasted, perfect aging.
The mouthfeel is carbonated with a warming finish. The body is medium-plus and has medium carbonation.
I am impressed; this beer is fantastic. Tomorrow, I will consume the barrel-aged version. I am intrigued to see the differences. It is a cross between a wit and a quad.

Pours a deep brown with cherry-tinted edges, fizzy 1" cola head that quickly recedes to a steady thin ring, very little lacing. Nose is a whiff of holiday spice up front followed by a strong cola note, almost as if you shaved some nutmeg over a glass of Coke. The addition of the orange peel levels this one out nicely and pushes it more towards cola notes than a straight spicy Wit. Taste is big on raisin, stewed prune, banana bread, fruity yeast esters. A little boozy on the finish, but only a hint of warmth. Feel is ultra thick and smooth (very similar to the 8 nouns-a-verbing), and I think a lighter feel with some more carbonation would have benefited this one. Still, I think this is one of the better beers in the series and is a nice winter beer.

Too much for me but those dedicated to this style may enjoy. Its a dark ale and probably does not dissapoint to dedicated followers.

Cola colored with a fingers worth of light tan head. The nose is malty, orange, coriander, banana, pepper, cloves, and vanilla. The taste is apple, plum, tart cherries, nutmeg, raisins, cinnamon, and apple pie. I'm not sure what this beer is. Has a good mouthfeel that borders on creamy with medium carbonation. I don't dislike this, but I'm not sure I really like it either. Interesting at best, weird at it's worst. (Found my old notes on this one)

A: Poured into a snifter to a black beer which is topped by a dense and slightly rocky two finger tan head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass with minimal lacing
S: Smells of tons of Christmas spices with a little dark fruit. Hints of roasted malts in there as well
T: Taste is christmas spices and dark fruits up front with some roasted malts and dark chocolate. Hints of charred wood as well. On the swallow there's more dark fruits and christmas spices with some lingering roasted malts and chocolate
M: This beer has a body which is right in the middle of the road to actually being lighter than anticipated. Carbonation is slightly effervescent and potentially a little higher than anticipated while the beer has a drying finish.
O: Overall this is a really nice beer. It has some good flavors and a great complexity to it which makes it an interesting beer to drink. This beer is pretty balanced in flavor as well. As a belgian strong dark it misses the mark but as a dark wit with some Christmas influence this one drinks pretty nicely.

The beer pours a creamy and off-white head that dissipates very quickly. The beer itself is a hazy dark mahogany brown color.
The smell is good. It has a variety of spices such as ginger and notes of cinnamon, cloves, and dried apples along with nutmeg and a bit of orange peel. In other words, the very smell the label describes is what comes out.
The taste is good and more interesting than the smell. It has the same spice notes but the ginger and anise come out more while the orange peel is more orange and citrus instead of sweet.
The feel is good. It has as heavy body but a slightly thin texture to it with tingling carbonation to it.
Overall, a good beer that has aged well.

The Bruery empties out their spice rack for this one--a dark, wheat ale with enough spices to warm your winter night. The ale pours deep brown with a thin head. The flavors come at you in abundance and in waves, with the prevailing taste of various dark fruits mitigated by cinnamon and nutmeg, with a Belgian coriander and clove wit bite. Nicely done, but the beer does lose a slight bit of character at the bottom of the glass. Or else this would have been an ale Hall of Famer.

2018 Vintage
750ml bottle poured into a teku
A- pours brown in color with a one-finger foamy off-white head that reduces to a ring around the edge
S- an array of spices on the nose; cinnamon, clove, ginger and coriander all popping through, including some zesty citrus undertones. Belgian candi sugar, spicy yeast and toasted wheat close it out
M- slightly sweet and malty up front with notes of figs and raisin, immediately followed by spice notes of cinnamon, clove, anise and zesty citrus. The finish gives a bit of apple, brown sugar and allspice. Lingers of peppery yeast and dark sugars
O- a easy sipper with all of the spices held in check, none overpowering the others
