From a huge bottle, this brew is a murky brownish color..hazy and dark. Moderate head. The aroma has a musty, nutty note. Balanced sweetness, with some fruit and nuts in the taste. Full in body. Somewhat warming. Could have been better, but it is a drinkable brew.

750ml bottle poured into a couple snifters and shared with friends. It appears a hazy ruby color with off-white head.

Nose is slightly fruity and has a somewhat nutty appeal that almost gets bready as well.

The taste is fruity yet bready and almost oxidized feeling at times. Its a bit peculiar.

This is light in body with modest carbonation. Honestly this is unimpressive and I regret buying it.

For what’s its trying to be I think they nailed it. Get the breadiness the nuttiness and the jelly. Not a ton of body on the feel. Overall I like it but not sure I would buy it again.

L: Had this on-tap at Capital Ale House - Innsbrook, poured into a snifter glass. Had a dark brown color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy, off white head that lasted an average amount of time. Not much lacing.

S: An interesting aroma of peanut butter, malt, fruit, and a bready quality.

T: Tasted of a mild amount of malt (mostly in the finish), a lot of peanut butter (not overpowering, though), some fruit (raspberry, blueberry), and a tinge of the bready quality. For the most part, this does taste like a PB&J sandwich, though the peanut butter is certainly featured. Pretty tasty.

F: A n average amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: Not your average beer, but one worth trying. Drinkable.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 4/25/2018. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy reddish orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big peanut butter, blackberry, raspberry, cherry, fruit skin, bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, light salt, and herbal/grassy/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance of peanut flour, boysenberries, bready malts, and light salt/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big peanut butter, blackberry, raspberry, cherry, fruit skin, bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, light salt, and herbal/grassy/toasted earthiness. Very minimal herbal/grassy bitterness and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of peanut butter, blackberry, raspberry, cherry, fruit skin, bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, light salt, and herbal/grassy/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice robustness and balance of peanut flour, boysenberries, bready malts, and light salt/earthy hop flavors; with a decent malt/bitter/tartness balance, and no cloying sweetness after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering bitter/tartness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and slightly sticky/acidic/saline mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 7.3%. Overall this is a delicious fruit beer! All around nice robustness and balance of peanut flour, boysenberries, bready malts, and light salt/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the minimally bitter/tart finish. This tastes 100% like drinking PB&J sandwiches, but is quite on the sweet side from added lactose. Awesome balance of jammy boysenberries, PB, and biscuity malt flavors. Not overly salty, but adds to the authentic PB character. A very enjoyable, and well made offering as expected.

I'm curious and excited to see how this turns out. I feel like the Bruery does really good with this kind of stuff, but people don't rate it for what it is. Seeing as how they don't say what base style was used and only say ale I'm going into it rating it by how well they achieve what the bottle reads. So pouring from a 750 ml. bottle into a tulip glass this beer pours out a brown color with some reddish hues and has one finger of sea foam pink colored crown. I could smell nuttiness as I was pouring and putting my nose to the glass it literally smells like I just made a peanut butter and jelly, everything from the bread to peanut butter to jelly. As it enters the mouth it brings a little bit of tartness from the berries while providing a peanut butter nuttiness the whole way through. They did very good at achieving a "out of the lunchbox" taste but what I'm most impressed by is the light refreshing nature of this beer. I think that tartness and salt is what does it and the fact that they didn't make the nuttiness cloying or too thick is impressive. Overall, they did great on this and it is great on a summer day (which is surprising) I wish more people would rate by what they are drinking. Disclaimer: if you don't like pb&j, don't drink, because you won't like it, but that doesn't mean it's a bad beer.

The smell is there but the taste isn't. The mouthfeel is really thin and whatever base beer that was used for this was pretty lame. Had the potential to be great but was a real let down. Big thumbs down.
