Pours a reddish amber, 2 fingers of head dissipate quickly to film.
Nose is peanut butter, berry, chocolate, bready note.
Taste begins as berries, some nuttiness, slight coffee note, cola.
Mouthfeel is fairly thick, but not creamy. Some carb present.
Overall, this is neat. Worth a try, why not, though I don't see a need to revisit. Glad to see a novelty beer that is balanced fairly restrained

having new beer from these guys is always a treat right? i mean, we have all come to love what they do, but i had higher hopes for this one. as much as i like peanut flour being a part of it, i dont think it has enough fruit, and the overall thing sees sort of dishwatery to me. salt is cool with the peanut element, its dry and not greasy, authentic and a cool way to add it, but the boysenberry is tangy more than jelly-like, so im not sure it totally accomplishes its mission, although i like the nut part being highlighted, its just sort of hovering around the mark but not hitting it. a light pink hue, some obvious nuttiness, less grain than i thought it might have, and a seemingly allergic peanut thing going on, it should be obvious to anyone. the boysenberry might need some black or raspberry to bring it up in the flavor mix, it seems fermented out a little too much, so the sandwich is out of balance. that said, the name suits this and it does bring me back to a brown bagged lunch. cool effort, but in the end i dont really want to drink very much of this...

From a huge bottle, this brew is a murky brownish color..hazy and dark. Moderate head. The aroma has a musty, nutty note. Balanced sweetness, with some fruit and nuts in the taste. Full in body. Somewhat warming. Could have been better, but it is a drinkable brew.

750ml bottle poured into a couple snifters and shared with friends. It appears a hazy ruby color with off-white head.

Nose is slightly fruity and has a somewhat nutty appeal that almost gets bready as well.

The taste is fruity yet bready and almost oxidized feeling at times. Its a bit peculiar.

This is light in body with modest carbonation. Honestly this is unimpressive and I regret buying it.

For what’s its trying to be I think they nailed it. Get the breadiness the nuttiness and the jelly. Not a ton of body on the feel. Overall I like it but not sure I would buy it again.

L: Had this on-tap at Capital Ale House - Innsbrook, poured into a snifter glass. Had a dark brown color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy, off white head that lasted an average amount of time. Not much lacing.

S: An interesting aroma of peanut butter, malt, fruit, and a bready quality.

T: Tasted of a mild amount of malt (mostly in the finish), a lot of peanut butter (not overpowering, though), some fruit (raspberry, blueberry), and a tinge of the bready quality. For the most part, this does taste like a PB&J sandwich, though the peanut butter is certainly featured. Pretty tasty.

F: A n average amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.

O: Not your average beer, but one worth trying. Drinkable.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 4/25/2018. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy reddish orange/copper color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big peanut butter, blackberry, raspberry, cherry, fruit skin, bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, light salt, and herbal/grassy/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance of peanut flour, boysenberries, bready malts, and light salt/earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big peanut butter, blackberry, raspberry, cherry, fruit skin, bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, light salt, and herbal/grassy/toasted earthiness. Very minimal herbal/grassy bitterness and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of peanut butter, blackberry, raspberry, cherry, fruit skin, bread dough/crust, toasted biscuit, light salt, and herbal/grassy/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice robustness and balance of peanut flour, boysenberries, bready malts, and light salt/earthy hop flavors; with a decent malt/bitter/tartness balance, and no cloying sweetness after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering bitter/tartness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and slightly sticky/acidic/saline mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 7.3%. Overall this is a delicious fruit beer! All around nice robustness and balance of peanut flour, boysenberries, bready malts, and light salt/earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the minimally bitter/tart finish. This tastes 100% like drinking PB&J sandwiches, but is quite on the sweet side from added lactose. Awesome balance of jammy boysenberries, PB, and biscuity malt flavors. Not overly salty, but adds to the authentic PB character. A very enjoyable, and well made offering as expected.
